  1. You can't follow "lame" with "bro" and "word" and expect to be taken seriously.
  2. How many games does it take for a slow start to become a season trend? 10 games in seems like a decent sample. 3 wins in 10 games and only one (Atlanta) against their #1 goalie?
  3. Asking me how to spell is like asking Rivet to teach you how to skate
  4. Keep money in mind when thinking about making a deal with NJ. Entry level guys and prospects is all NJ will take back.
  5. Maybe if you would post something interesting people would respond more.
  6. 3-6? A win against NJ and 1 against Ottawa? Both are tied for dead last in the conference. The other, a win against Atlanta missing players and coming back from a west coast trip.
  7. Unless 9 other forwards have been injured and can't play, Grier should never see the ice in the third period with this team down 2+.
  8. Maybe this team is distraught over the Larry Quinn news, that he made it through the surgery I mean.
  9. Just trying to help with the strike total.
  10. What a bad call, that was obstruction/interference on Leopold all the way.
  11. He is a strike against Ruff? How is it good coaching putting Rivet back in the lineup. Is far and away the worst defenseman on the team and possibly in the organization. What a message it sends to the team. You play a nice game and run NJ out of the building and the defense plays pretty well. They get rewarded by being saddled with Rivet? What a great message to send to the young defensemen on the roster. It doesn't matter how well you play we are going to stick this piece of garbage out there whenever possible.
  12. NO to the first point and YES to the second.
  13. To add one thing, the Devils are also without their top defenseman Volchenkov. That doesn't take away from the effort the put out last night. Like Atlanta, they took advantage of their opponent. Considering what the Devils were missing, anything less than two points would be a huge disappointment. Weber is a huge upgrade over Rivet. When Morrisonn comes back Sekera, Butler and Weber need to remain in the lineup. Keep and Rivet out and choose between Leopold and Montador to hit the press box. At +9 it may be harder to sit Montador, at this point he seems to be less of a train wreck than Leopold.
  14. Ruff would find a job quickly. Maybe he'll take a year off and do some TV. Regier's only hope is a job with the league. I couldn't imagine another team giving him a chance at GM. Unless it is a team with a strong owner looking for a yes man. Regier is a good company man, a horrible evaluator of talent and the free agent/trade markets but still a good company man.
  15. I wonder what it would really take for Ruff to be fired? I don't see Regier being man enough to make that decision. If he fires Ruff he is basically saying he did his job and filled the roster with enough talent which we all know is BS. It may be more likely for Quinn, the weasel he is, to throw Regier under the bus and let a new GM deal with Lindy. If the Cerberus running this franchise is to lose a head it will be because of Quinn trying to save his own.
  16. When you constantly refuse to take steps to move forward it is no surprise you find yourself falling behind.
  17. That is a huge problem, Regier would be the one hiring the new coach and he would hire a coach that would be forced to stick to the current program. He will be forced to play Connolly and keep Rivet as Captain no matter how useless he is. It would be someone from the organization, someone who already is part of the problem. This franchise is stale. It needs a new perspective from someone outside of the organization. That will never happen.
  18. The only consistent aspect of this team over the past 3+ seasons is their lack of effort. They don;t play with emotion, they could care less when a teammate takes a cheap-shot and if you challenge them physically they wither. What is this team going to do against the Pens, Caps, Flyers and even the Bolts and Leafs?
  19. 2 years? Where were three years ago?
  20. A so-so effort isn't going to do it most nights. They weren't playing a ready made opponent like the Thrashers were. This team doesn't know how to play with any emotion. This is not a high energy team. I heard a lot the last couple of days about tempo. This is not a fast hockey team. They can't play that high tempo game. And they mply don't have the toughness or grit to play knock down drag them out games. It was proven when the Bruins beat them up and wore them down in 6 games. Where is the Franchise right now? A absentee owner. A front office and coaching staff that few believe are capable of winning a Stanley Cup. A roster of players that is very unlikeable. A roster of players that rarely play hard and don't have the talent to provide a exciting product. Tonight was not entertaining. Tonight Devils fans would be complaining how boring this game was.
  21. You and Regier most smoke the same weed, Connabis! Turns even the most knowledgeable hockey person into a drooling idiot. :w00t:
  22. I'm not going to argue business. My point is simply the guy like you and me. Watching the team, talking about it on some fan board and hoping for a Cup! I don't want to tell him he doesn't deserve a team to cheer for. If you want to talk strictly business then we can talk about how a city like Buffalo may not deserve a major professional sports team.
  23. I will agree they do. I just can't support ripping a team from one fan and give it to another.
  24. There are many cities in the NFL that can't understand why Buffalo has a NFL team. Is Atlanta a hockey hot bed? No! I will bet there are many fans in Atlanta that feel as strong about their team as we do about the Sabres. They may not have the numbers, they still exist. I don't want to see any fan lose their team.
  25. The city may not, don't forget there are hockey fans down there that do.
