It does. Briere gives the Sabres better 5 on 5 production. The point about the schedule is that Yes, many of the teams were top eight at the time. But if they are not now it might be the Sabres caught them on a down turn. I do give the Sabres a lot of credit. You still have to take advantage of the schedule and they have done that. The Sabres are on their way to the playoffs. But do you really want them matching up with another team with Fitzpatrick, Peters and Grier in the lineup? Call me greedy. First all I wanted was a playoff spot. Now that I seem to be getting that? I want home ice. Pick up a blueliner, call up Thornburn and waive Peters and the Sabres will be on their way.

Of the 16 games you have listed? Only 4 are wins against teams that would qualify for the playoffs today. Only 1 is against a team higher then a 7th seed (Dal#3). I'm not saying don't enjoy it. I'm just saying things might get tougher when the Sabres start playing some of the better teams.

OK. Evreyone take a deep breath. The Sabres got lucky tonight. They sweep the Pens by scoreing 8 goals. 5 on the power play. More so tonight. If the Sabres played that way against any other team all the streaks would have come to an end. The Pens were able to jump on the Sabre defense and beat them down low. How many scambles around the Buffalo net were there tonight? A dozen? Fitzpatrick was just horrible. I'm not sure who was worse Fitzpatrick or Grier. I'm glad to see Grier get benched. Call up Thornburn. And can someone please explain how Andrew "Juice" Peters gets to wear an NHL uniform. There is something wrong with that. I'm glad the Sabres took the four points. But I am sure Lindy and the coaching staff will have a lot to go over in the meetings.

Like I said. Hockey wise it worked out OK. But 18,000 or so fans walked away from a 5-0 drubbing. From a business stand point. You would have rather have 18,000 customers leave happy so hopefully those who attened for the first time this year will buy tickets later in the year. I agree about the whole Montreal thing. This is a time were the hockey side and business side seem to conflict.

A positive to be taken from last nights game? Maybe this will keep the players level headed. Knock them down a peg so they remember what happens when they don't skate. Any time you lose is not good. But when you can take something away from it sometimes it could be a good thing on some level.

My point exactly. A tough loss. Hockey wise it's not to bad. For Business? It might have been better to lose last night and win tonight. What a waste of a good crowd. Hopefully they are hammering the $7.50 beers.

Could you possibly qoute my post where I hammer Biron? I know facts don't mean much on these boards but I try to keep them straight when my name is used. And your right. Regier Knew Miller was going to get hurt and that's why he sat on his hands. :blink: Again facts mean very little. Of course now that Marty has put some games together you can't trade him now :lol: When your course of action is to take no action sometimes it works out. I like how Regier should be a good GM because Miller takes a feak puck off the thumb. :lol: I'm also sure the Regier Fans are alrewady getting their posts together on how you can't fire Regier because Briere and Dumont got hurt :lol: Just more excuses.

Sabres have yet to have one of those 6-0 8-2 wins this season. They are due. ;)

Marty deserves all the criticism he gets. For a veteran goalie he has way too many lapses mentally. Seeing Marty last night is why a lot of Fans get frustrated. When his mind is in the game he is a very good NHL goalie. When it's not he looks like an very bad AHL goalie.

All the local media is Bills 24/7. The 'SharpShooters' are no more. No more 'Hockey Hotline'. So all we have are these boards and the few minutes of pre and post game. I still don't know what a Coach like Ruff could tell a player like Vanek. 3 goals in 22 games? The Dog Days of the Hockey Season are coming up. Ruff will have a tough job keeping this team skateing. They need to make sure that the "nights off" are few and far between. It's really simple. If this team skates it can win almost any night. Ruff would be served well if Drury can keep the offense going while dropping his -9 +/-. Also, I know Roy is a board fav. But at 10 games, 3 points and a -6 +/- it might be time to give someone else from the ROC a shot.

And if they don't? I doubt you'll be staying around for that. ;)

Sabres caught a break tonight. It turned out to be the game winner for Drury and TalINder. Nice play by Drury staying with the puck. Nice job by Mika. He deserves a second start. I would be shocked if he got it. Was it the Bruins style, bad ice or did the Sabres not have their legs? They should be a lot faster then the Bruins but it didn't seem like it tonight. Despite that. This is a two points they wouldn't have gotten last season. It shows growth. And Nice Call for Dave B. Who predicted the Sabres would go on a run. He doesn't seem like someone to say "I told you so". But, He told us so.

The Sabres can't seem to find room to skate. Drury having another stellar game. I don't know why he can't put a string of good games together.

When Pyatt was out he must have had a 'Addasacktome'. I think Connolly and Campbell had the same procedure.

Not to be too positive ;) The game was an example of what could be if certain players showed up once in a while. The got a ton of help from Eddie the Eagle tonight. But you still have to cash in. We all know because the Sabres havn't been the past few weeks. Again though. You have the Sens. Time to measure up and send a message. If they get rag-dolled again then anything positive from the Leafs game gets tossed out the window.

Up 4-2. Vanek gets a goal called back and looks like he would kill someone. I like that. :)
