I am looking forward to seeing the Leafs play tonight. Just anther interesting tidbit from this morning's standings, the Islanders have played 13 games, are on a six games losing skid and still are ahead of the Sabres with a game in hand. The Leafs? currently four points ahead of the Sabres with two games in hand. The Bruins are six points ahead of the Sabres with four games in hand. It may be early but that hole the Sabres have dug is pretty deep.

Even better than that? The Sabres are tied with the Oilers for dead last in the NHL with 8 points. The Oilers have four games in hand on the Sabres.

Please! We all know he is benched for protecting a teammate. Regier will not allow this sort of thing to go on.

The most disturbing thing right now is the Miller injury. You know status quo is going to play this as the reason for the early season slump.That said, I am very curious about the timing of this "injury." Seems a bit to convenient for the Sabres.

Boston down 3-0 to the Caps storms back in the third to tie at 3-3. Good teams find a way to get it done.

Connolly winning faceoffs? Gaustad winning faceoffs? How is this team not 13-0 with all these faceoff wins?

Just think how you will feel when his extension is announced. I'm seeing 3 years at $16 million. If the Sabres were in first place they would have announced it already. No source, just a gut feeling.

Bad things happen to teams going bad.

Teams go after teams who take shots at their better players. The difference between other teams and the Sabres is the Sabres have a growing history of losing players taken out by other teams. Miller, Vanek and Pominville are just the recent examples.

Every team does. Despite what Regier, Ruff and many posters here think hockey is a physical and emotional sport. You have to have that "edge" to succeed.

I want this team to respond every time. Until it becomes automatic with the entire roster.

When something as stupid as Paul Gaustad being a "overachiever" gets posted you have to run with it.

What does "solid fourth line player" even mean? I doubt that is Gaustad's goal. You said Gaustad couldn't become a "Lucic"? He started his NHL career being a "Lucic." "faceoffs" are nice when you have the other bases covered. To have a 6' 5' face-off specialist when this team is sorely lacking in the physical part of game is a joke. To try to excuse away Gaustad's sudden lack of testicular fortitude is bullzhit.

That is as convincing of a argument as I have heard for Lindy's time with the Sabres to end. The last thing this team need sis a over-sized Brent Pederson. Gaustad was a dream come true when he first came to the Sabres. To see what he is now is heart breaking. Its' like the 49ers having Ronnie Lott who suddenly decides he wants to concentrate on long snapping.

Why are you afraid to answer the question honestly?

How can you say Gaustad is not a problem and then say "a lack of heart and desire " is a problem? Gaustad's loss of heart and desire is a big factor. There is no reason why he can't play like Lucic. Why is that if a player has a nickname (Goose) he gets a free pass. Tim Connolly needs to get a catchy nickname so fans will be calling for him to get a new contract.

OK Gramps. You are insulting Kaleta and McCormick by including Gaustad with them.
