Would it be the same team that has played more games than all but one team in the Conference? This team is still five games under .500 and is a -9 in goal differential. Their play has improved and they are picking up points with little or no help from Miller which is a great sign. The downside is that eventually they will have to start beating some starting goaltenders.

After watching the Flyers and Lightning put up 15 on the scoreboard last night all I want from tonight is to be entertained. I hope the refs call it tight with a ton of penalties.

I sent a trade proposal.

Vanek's play completely changes the dynamic of the team. His recent play has not been just great it's been dominate. As much I was not a big fan of Briere I will say Vanek play with the puck is Briere like. Briere's strong suit wasn't that he wanted the puck. He went and got the puck and did things with it. Vanek isn't standing around looking for the puck. He is fighting for it and skating like he has a demon in his arce.

No assist on the winner. Vanek did take out the last Canuck defender that had a chance at the puck.

I am going to call a Sabres win in OT tonight. I see a blue-liner scoring with Vanek getting the primary assist.

Connolly has to show more agression going after that puck. He can't pull up and just jab at it no matter what type of player he is.

There are many here that feel that not having Michael Peca cost this team a chance at the Cup. I am one who feels that Peca wold have been a difference against the Pens. A chance at the Cup vs. draft picks and Tom Golisano's money? You decide.

The only difference is that Enroth did enough to get this teams some points. Enroth has gotten 5 points in four starts. Lalime has gotten 9 wins total in his two plus years here in Buffalo. Sure, every goalie lets in soft goals. The difference can be as simple as the timing of those goals Lalime let's in.

I'm not saying Enroth is a world beater. I think the kid earned this start. Simply put, he won some points. If Lalime was in net I doubt the Sabres get any of the five points they did.

I would like to see the Sabres come and play a open run and gun style. The Sabres pretend they have all this talent in their "core" or "top six" players. It would be nice for Ruff to start coaching like it. They don't have the heart or toughness to play strong defensive hockey. If this team has actual talent let's see it in all of it's glory.

Why is Miller starting? You have a goalie that just won 5 out of 6 points? Enroth should keep playing. The Sabres could have their own Rask/Thomas situation here.

What Peca wanted at the time has nothing to do with the initial point. The discussion was about all-time Sabres busts. I take bust to mean the cost of acquiring a player through trade or draft compared to that players production. If Connolly was a fourth round draft pick the feelings regarding his play would be far different. Unfortunately for Connolly, he was part of one of the most unpopular trades, if not "the" most unpopular trade in franchise history. That has stuck to him and will continue to stick to him. Connolly is a constant reminder of a situation that may have cost the Sabres a chance at a Cup in 2001. I did not intend to insinuate that Connolly himself cost the Sabres a Stanley Cup. He is the residue of a horribly handled situation that has to be weighed when considering all-time busts.

I am talking about the overall price to acquire the player. Connolly is as tied to the Peca situation as Vanek is being a top 5 draft pick.

Connolly cost the team a Captain and possibly a chance at the Stanley Cup. Vanek at best cost the Sabres the original draft pick and a bunch of Golisano's money.

He has a long way to go to pass Connolly.

If this goes to a shootout we may just see some records broken.

Zombies are walking the earth and that is the issue you have? :lol: How about a guy being left alone in a hospital for god knows how many days or weeks with no food or water and can still walk home moments after he wakes up. Right now they are about introducing characters. They have yet to get into the meat of the story. The ratings were really good. 5.3 million viewers for the first episode. They had 4.7 million last Sunday. Good enough for AMC to green-light a 13 episode 2nd season. I hope every sticks around to let the story develop and keep the show going.

Any chance Enroth is Swedish for Rask?
