    Not on it's own, like "I'll trade you two thirds for your second", but more like "I'll trade you Malkin for Pysyk and your second." "How about Pysyk and my third?" "No. Pysyk and two thirds?" "Deal." You could argue that 2 3rd == 1 2nd in that scenario, but it's not that easy.

    Thanks. Just trying to figure out a scenario where we could get an extra first round pick. There are two guys I would like us to go after.

    This might be a dumb question, since we know some of these draft picks are going to be packaged for players. But my question is does two third round picks equal a second round pick and does two seconds equal a first round pick?

    Hey man put him in your top nine and see if you ever make the playoffs. Also never said he should be a center. I will say I don't like where the league is going. It seems like as a league we are sacrificing skill and speed for big guys who can cycle the puck on the boards. IMO most of the nhls scoring problems stem from this style of play, but that's just what I think.

     

    Actually, he is having the kind of year that he has been having for his career, He is a career 15-20 goal scorer. I'm not advocating keeping him because as I have said before, the new NHL is a top 4 core kind of league and you don't give term and money to any other forwards but to say he is a fourth line center shows a lack of knowing what the NHL has become with respect to scoring and a lack of knowing what McGinn has done throughout his career

    2011/2012 - 20 goals

    2012/2013 -11 goals in a 48 game strike shortened season

    2013/2014 - 19 goals

    2014/2015 - 4 goals in 19 games before injury

    I think the word tank is being used wrong this season.

    I would take a Finn or trade out of #1. For me the defenders are not wow in this draft. I think Laine has sniper skills but puljujarvi has a better 2 way game. I favor puljujarvi because of that.

    This is pretty much the way I feel. The only thing different for me, is I want Laine. Mostly because this team needs a pure goal scorer. But I'd take either one.

    I've always had an interest in Nail Yakupov, his speed and his hands is incredible imo, 22 years old, just think he would fit like a glove with jack and jamie.

    Comments?

     

    Other than the fact we are going to get rid of that scrub Mcginn, I'm with you. But I wouldn't give up much for him, maybe a third.

    I think Laine's shot is the best shot to get drafted since Stamkos, and Puljujarvi's lack of finish bothers me a little, relative to Laine's. I'd obviously still love either but I'd take Laine at 2 if we picked there.

    Thanks, for the insight on these two. The only thing I was able to see is Laine has a wicked slapper and Puljujarvi has the speed that you look for. Everything else seemed pretty even. Who is the more physical between the two?
