I think everybody knows I want to keep Grigo by now. So I came up with an alternative proposal. I know we need a right wing and I think Oshie was born to be Reinhart' s wing. So how about Larsson, Hodgson,and our other first for Oshie. How far off am I?

It does. But I could care less! I want Grigo on this team for the foreseeable future. The way I look at it, we already have 3guy's who are pretty much the exact same player in Zemgus, Marcus, and Delaurias(or however you spell his name). Without trading prospects,draft picks, and our future away.

No worries. Wasn't trying to direct my post at anybody specifically. Well maybe a little bit at the people trying to throw the kitchen sink to get RoR.

Man I would be so pissed if Grigo gets traded. We are finally at a point were we can roll three lines with little drop off and you guys want to trade our third line center. IMO we have our centers for the next decade with 1c Eichel, 2c Reinhart, and 3c being Grigo.
The thing I don't get is. We finally get to were we need to be and everybody here wants to start trading our talent away. We are not going to be a playoff team next year. So everybody needs to slow down and have some patience. This year is about development, not trading our future away for guys like Mike Green and RoR.

Foligno - Grigorenko - Larsson/Hodgson
Deslauriers - Larsson/McCormick - Kaleta
Yea... we are going to have to be very active this summer because I can't fit everyone into this lineup. I think we trade for a RW and possibly a defender.
These are the lines I want for next year minus Kaleta. Develop the youth early in the season and see where the new coach has this team going. Then decide what trades need to be made. Other than goalie, I'll take a pass on this year's UFAS.

This thread makes me want to puke!!! I mean did any of you guys actually watch their games this year? The guy showed absolutely nothing. In all honesty I would have a hard time rooting for this team with him on it. I've hated him more than anybody in the league the last 8or9 years and now you guys want him on our team.
How about this, name me a playoff team with a so called tough guy in their top 6?

why is this a question? the board is usually so enlightened... its like asking if i want ingest poison or something arrogant and bad tasting and over priced but effective in relieving hunger... where is the third option

Neither!!! Lucic is a dumpster fire this team does not need, not to mention lack of scoring talent and on the down swing of his career. With RoR I'm not willing to give up the bevy of prospects and picks that its going to take. Not to mention the contract he reportedly wants makes him completely over paid.
IMO we have the chance here to develop three lines where line one is as good as line three and all three lines can play with anybody's top line. We are looking at having McEichel, Reinhart, and Grigo as our 3centers for the next ten years. If we stay the course, get a good coach, and develop our youth there will be no reason to trade for overpaid(RoR), trash(Lucic) players.

Sorry, but Eichel is more than a consolation prize. He might not be Mcdavid, but he is far better prospect than most the last ten years.

I'm putting most of my blame on Mezz, I mean 5points in three games. The rest of my blame goes to the fan's that cheered the yotes win. That really seemed to light a fire under this team.

Also heard GMTM was the guy who originally hired Babcock for his first AHL coaching gig. So I think you would want to keep that connection.

Not much. Reinhart and McEichel are the only young guys that would have not "paid their dues" in most lineups that people have been posting, and Babcock has never had rookies as talented as them. He won't keep them down just because that's how Detroit has handled their late first rounders for years.
Fair point on Detroit's picks being late in the first round. Meaning those picks probably needed more time for development.

If by some chance we get Mike Babcock, how much does your line up change? Was just wondering your guys opinion knowing how Babcock likes for the kids to develop in the minors.

No thanks to ROR! Guy wants too much money, for what he actually is. Also do we really need another left handed shot?
If I remember correctly,right before the trade deadline there was talk of the Blues trading Oshie. Mostly due to the fact they couldn't afford to sign him as well as some of their other contracts. Now this is a trade I can get behind. Right handed shot, great on the power play,and oh yeah shootout specialist.
Opening day would look something like this
Kane McEichel Ennis
Moulson Reinhart Oshie
Zemgus Grigs Gionta
But I don't know. I could be way off on all of this. Just what I would like to see.
