Well almost every mock draft I've seen today has us drafting Sergachev at 8. I am personally starting to jump on the Nylander train for my pick. The kid has everything you look for in a winger. Size, speed, hockey iq, and a wicked shot all checks in my book. Plus you get the storyline of Jack and William vs. Austin and Alex for the next decade.

Have any of you ever watched a full game of Sergachev? Guy skates like Tyler Myers( not a compliment). Average offensive ability. Never really seen him give a full effort. Honestly, the last person I want to draft. If we stay at 8 my choice in order would be Nylander,Chychrun, Keller, then jolevi.

Sam and Jack are the top 2 centers for this team when we win a cup. O'Reilly will be just as useful on the wing.
I can't believe Bylsma wasted the end of a lost season with Samson on the wing instead of learning the center position at the NHL level.
Exactly… to me O'Reillys future on this team is on Jack's wing. To me that is 2/3's of an unstoppable line. Second line is Samson at center and Kane at LW. Both lines need rw's though. Bailey and Hudson have a shot, just not this year.

Peter Donatelli, who represents Jimmy Vesey, had this to say about the Buffalo Sabres acquiring the rights of his client from the Nashville Predators: "In our opinion, the only thing that has happened is now the Sabres have stepped into the shoes of Nashville for exclusive rights [to negotiate] until Aug. 15. However, at this time, it doesn't change Jimmy Vesey's intention to become a free agent on Aug. 15."
Sounds like a waste of a draft pick on our part. Never thought he was coming here.

Fun fact: Cody Franson is a new strain of marijuana where it takes a long time to get going but once it finally does it hits like a truck... or not sometimes it just misses.

I want the third or fourth pick probably more than anyone here, but is there a deal that can be made without fasching, Bailey, or Reinhart being in the equation? Zemgus/Larsson + 8 + one of the thirds for cbj' s pick.

If Pysyk + 8 and a 3rd got us 4th overall and Columbus called asking for Girgensons to move up to 3 would you do it? I'd certainly be torn.
I would do it, but with a draft pick(3rd or a 4th) or a prospect(JAG) coming back from Columbus.

Jost, better not be the choice. It's Keller or Nylander for me at 8. I really don't want anything to do with the d-men. They are very average to me. Really, the only thing that is going to make me happy is if they trade up and get Thachuck. Also, I know he had a bad season, but Tyler Benson is going to be a star in this league. I would love to draft him with our 2nd round pick.

Looks like Future Considerations was a bit off in their initial draft list.
Not even sure Steel, Krys and Day get drafted in top 2 rounds.
Im pretty sure Benson goes in round 2 - had a real tough year with injuries.
Yeah, I feel for Benson. Kid has the goods to be a star in this league. But those injuries really set him back this year. Hope we grab him in the second round.

I don't think Samson is nearly as important to this rebuild as Jack is. We would have tanked again this year without Jack
I concur that Jack is slightly more important to the rebuild than Samson is, but that is a very small gap.

Risto and Samson>>> Matthews. The fact that some of you think it's the other way around is just mind boggling. I'm sorry, but Samson is just as important to this rebuild as Jack is.

My all time favorite player hands down is Alexander Mogilny. So I typically look for players like him. Unfortunately, there are none. So if I had to pick a couple from today's league I would pick Kane, Sequin, and Johnny Hockey.

It's not a trade you can make prior to there and then on the draft floor. If Sergachev is there at 8, I draft him no questions asked.
I ended up watching the Windsor/Kingston game on Sunday because of your review of Sergachev. The guy looked very average to me. He even got blown up by a little winger. So assuming that was one of his worst games. What is it that makes you so high on him? I'm just really starting to dislike the d-men in this draft.

I'm sorry but what is being thrown out here for Fowler is way too much. I'd be willing to stay put if Anaheim really wants our first, some players, and a prospect. You have to love a player to give up that much, which I don't think from GMTM all the way down to us that any of us do.
