Nylander, Olofsson, O'Regan, Smith, Pilut. Any three of those forwards could have stepped in Sobotka, Thompson or Girgensons any time after Thanksgiving. Pilut is among the top six Dmen in the organization.
-
As bad as Murray/Blysma were, Botterill/Housely are much worse.
-
No, most expected him not to take the massive step backwards he did when he traded two top six forwards for nothing. And shelving the top prospects in Rochester while keeping prospects on the big club who have proven they are not ready is also a step back. Botterrill has done nothing in his two seasons here to indicate that he will be a top GM.

Nah, the criticism is fair. He would have to have the most astounding offseason in franchise history to turn this team into a 90 point club in his 3rd season with the team.
-
Nice to see the newest guy on the team toting the company line.
-
Eichel has not been strong in that area of the ice the whole season. But he's planted there every freakin' power play and every extra attacker situation. A coach with half a brain might try moving him somewhere else.
-
Can we just skip the rest of the season and move to the firings?
-
With the Mittelstadt line playing well, and the team down a goal, Housley should move Reinhart back onto the top line for the rest of the game.
-
He should have been called up around Xmas and Thompson should have been sent down.
-
Just watching this trash and remembering that Bylsma finished his seasons with the Sabres with 81 and 78 points. And we thought that was bad.
-
Neither splitting them up nor keeping them together works. The team is too talent-poor.
-
9 more games and hopefully I'll never have to watch Sobotka try to play hockey again.
-
It's nice to see so many players with absolutely no skill to score goals be able to extend their NHL careers with the Buffalo Sabres. Buffalo, the half-way house between the NHL and beer leagues.
-
So this is the team that Botterill saw at the trade deadline and said, 'give me one defenseman, and we're good.'
-
That was emotion? He used every cliche there to escape any accountability. As much as the fans want the players to set the tone, you can't blame them for continually putting Sobotka, Girgensons, Scandella, and Thompson in the lineup every night. We want Eichel to be a leader in the Peca/Drury mode, but those guys never had to deal with the lineup that Jack is dealing with every game.

Great players in all sports hate to lose more than they love to win. That's a trait that the majority of athletes don't have. To have a successful team, the coach has to make those players hate to lose. Housley never had that trait as a player, and he has no ability to teach his team to hate to lose.

Skinner is talking about scoring goals like one talks about winning the lottery.
-
Gotta give credit to Dahlin for playing hard and to Sobotka for stealing another game check.
-
Nice to see the 25 year veteran step up in the absence of Eichel. Dahlin is playing a good game though.
-
Yeah, that's why I have concerns about Casey.

They have like 4 legit NHL players on the team. I don't think firing the guy who built the team and the guy who runs it would be that bad of a thing.
