Does anyone know why Dunleavy called the game on TV?
RJ sounded a bit raspy when he talked, and that was only for a couple of lines. I thought he would have done the presentation instead of Gare. And how come there wasn't anyone from the Sabres management there? Were they afraid they'd get booed?

The Colts lost Peyton Manning for the season. There wasn't much they could do.
They may have kept Manning out for the season even though he could have played near the end, knowing he might leave in free agency so lets get the highest pick possible.
If they change the rules, then they should make the ball selection public, not do it behind the scenes and then just show us team cards. Otherwise Conner McDavid will "just by luck" end up in Brooklyn, Toronto, or Florida.

The needs of the parent club outweigh those of the farm club.
The Sabres don't have a lot of talent, and watching them play can be maddening, but you dress the best guys in the organization.
If that was true then Risto, Pysek, and Rhuwedal would never have been sent down and would have played instead of McBain, Tallinder, and Sulzer or Weber. They want the kids to get playoff experience. That's not going to happen if they don't make the playoffs. So send the best eligible players back to Rochester and give them a chance.

I wish they would leave the better players in Rochester so at least they could compete for a playoff spot. 8 straight losses and they're dropping in the standings. Call up the Amerks scrubs and send Risto, Rhuwedel, Delaurias, Ellis, and Lieuwan back. The Sabres don't need to win, the Amerks do. Keep Hackett and bring up Makarov.

If the D is so good, why are the Sabres routinely allowing 40+ shots per game.
He said the future, not the present. Risto, Pysek, Zadorov, and Myers. Plus this team is the worst for puck possession, and that's mostly due to the forwards.

Knapp is currently playing for the Alaska Aces. Hell of a plane ride back to Rochester. I think Ullmark's team lost in the Swedish playoffs, I wonder if they could bring him over.
Sabres should just sign Biron as emergency backup for rest of season.

They're named after a guy who was almost single-handedly responsible for the extinction of the animal represented by their logo and city name...
It's only appropriate if the "Bills" refers to paying the price for season tickets every year.
Of course they were named during less PC times when Custer was thought of as a hero, and kids were wearing coonskin hats. I think the Browns are worse, named after Paul Brown. Bills is better than the Buffalo Ralphs.

Seriously, that's almost the most irritating team nickname ever. Crunch? I want them to change it to Mintberry Crunch.
Raptors is worse. Slightly.
And this is coming from a guy who is a casual fan of a team that's actually called the Buffalo Bills.
The Crunch name is partially due to the fact that Nestles had a big plant in Fulton, north of Syracuse at the time, and they were a big sponser. It was the winning name of 5 offered in a fan contest.

Shanahan will give Ted Nolan a 5 game suspension for Intimidation of a Player causing early retirement.
The downside is he was expected to boost the Amerks D for their playoff run.

Looking from the angle that Kassien had, I don't think he expected Dillon to bend down just as he hit him, so he wasn't looking to intentionally wipe him out. And I think he threw his helmet because he was upset with himself because he knew it was going to cost him. But he's still guilty of not being in control.

I'd be quite interested to watch a game including Luker, Deslauriers and Conacher in place of Ellis, Scott and Kenopka.
Since two players are injured, they'll all play and they just need to sit Scott who played forward yesterday, and Kenopka already was a scratch. Although if it was me I'd sit Leino.

Sign Mark Messier to a one-year $10 million contract and make him the captain. He wouldn't even have to suit up for games, he could just do practices and be in the locker room.

Does anyone disagree that Tim Murray had a phenomenal start to his career as #Sabres GM?
The fact that he's not Darcy was a good start. He didn't overvalue his players like Darcy did, which prevented him from making these type of deals in previous years which could have started this rebuild sooner. So now we'll see what he does with the draft picks in the next 2 years.

Gaborik was traded for a 2nd and conditional 3rd. The market isn't there this year to give up a 1st for a UFA.
