Voracek with CBus retaining some would be interesting because we could retain flip him again for a pick. Voracek at say a 3.5m hit is way more interesting than Voracek at an 8.5m hit
They're probably throwing at least next years first round pick in whatever deal as well I'd guess. So get Voracek for one year and a couple picks for it.

Who do we want? Boone Jenner?
I'd love him on the Sabres, but I don't think he'll be available. He's their captain and they have him locked in under $4 million for a few more years.

Who does Columbus move to get under the cap?
Easiest way would be to not sign/trade Laine. If they're going to sign Laine, they're gonna have to move Voracek or a Nyquist and/or Bjorkstrand.
I like Bjorkstrand, but just saw he was a minus 35 last year. Yikes!

Was at the bar last night and couldn't believe the news that the Jackets had gotten Gaudreau. I think Jackets fans are as surprised as anyone else. Also picked up Gudbranson, their "#1 target". Pretty good day for them.

Good story on Levi. Hope he signs next summer. Our goaltender situation needs it.

Lofberg gets the easy victory.
I bet the equipment guys root for certain players over others 😂

No Kisakov
I'm most interested in who wins "best vampire name" between Joel Ratkovic Berndtsson and William Von Barkenow Lofberg. Lofberg has to be the front runner in that contest.

I mean this just isn't based in any factual evidence at all.
Yet. But at least 2 seem to be trending that way.

Just ticks me off that this is yet another player that riles up the "No one likes Buffalo" crowd. Those people can go burn in hell
It's not Buffalo. It's the Sabres franchise. Look at Terry's 11 full seasons of ownership. 36% winning percentage over the last decade, plus all the management and ownership incompetence along the way. Ownership did this and now they play the "poor us" crowd, like it's not their fault, and shifting the blame. Pathetic, but completely unsurprising.

Do you read your own posts?
I actually read and write them. You out from under Terry's desk yet? Why would any top college player, so close to having the option to sign anywhere, sign with this ongoing tire fire? They could just sign with the real Coyotes instead of Terry's version.

What penny pinching?
Levi is 1 year younger.
You think Johnson and Portillo didn't sign because of what exactly?
Because we're the new Coyotes. Who wants to sign up for that? They can choose wherever they want next summer.
-
Next year is going to look hopefully marginally better than this year. But it's going to be another year of only half assed competing, imo.
Also, how does this penny pinching BS look to the guys we want to sign? Particularly Johnson and Portillo. Good thing Levi is young, or he'd be thinking about options too.

Road trip this weekend for a great concert. Much needed and looking forward to some fun.

We're not even spending to get to the cap FLOOR. Would that be too much to ask? Rather than becoming Coyote east?
He bought 4.9 million in cap for probably 1 million in actual dollars. And that 4.9 will be used to get to the floor. I'd bet on it.

And this is the opposite of the owners being cheap. They literally paid over $3MM for an extra 7th round pick.
It's exactly being cheap. They don't want to spend real money to get to the cap floor. They bought $5 million in cap at maybe 75% off, as you speculated earlier.
Wait even more since his actual salary is already discounted compared to his cap hit.
This is a Coyote deal.

Terry is cheap. Hope the family lifestyle is holding up ok. Can't wait to see the corpse we acquire next year. We used to make fun of the Coyotes for doing this year after year.

I'm not a fan of the Pegulas, but I feel that they and their organizations have stepped up and done a lot of good in the aftermath of this tragedy. I can't see how more charity and donations towards the affected community is a bad thing, even if it is just the "proceeds".
And I also feel that the "choose love" message is a great universal message, not only for this tragedy, but the world in general.

I just saw Airborne Toxic Event in concert for the 3rd time. They are the greatest band you’ve never heard of. They are on tour now. Highly recommended.
One of my favorites as well. Have tickets to see them for the first time in October. Show has been rescheduled multiple times thanks to covid.

I think it was a minor fail that the Sabres did not move out any expiring contract save Hagg.
I think it was a major fail that the Sabres have been effectively below the cap floor the entire season and did not use any of that considerable asset to improve the team for this season or the future.
Has anyone asked Terry how long we're going to be a cap floor team? If we're on a cap floor budget, that's going to seriously restrict the type of deals we can do. It's already going to take quite the effort to get to the cap floor next year, expect more acquiring of LTIR contracts.
Hell when's the last time Terry has said anything about the Sabres at all?

I've got nothing against them. I like the jerseys they wore yesterday, kind of a Civil War steampunk motif.
They set off an actual cannon in the arena when the Jackets score. So at least I got to hear that 7 times. It's a cool celebration item.

The "Nat" is actually a nice arena....used to make the 3 hour drive over from Indy to see games there. Would go to German Village for Schmidt's buffet and then the game.
Nationwide Arena is nice. People are nice. I've been there for several events and I've never seen an issue. There were lots of Sabres fans there yesterday.

Yep, read that wrong. Probably stuck with him. If I'm reading it right, a buyout wouldn't even help them on that one.
