  1. They were planning to do a drop-pass rush and mess it up... maybe an own goal.
  2. I remember hearing many in-mouth and lip stitches. Not sure if there was any jaw damage, though.
  3. Now he just needs to fight and throttle Wilson in some sort weird Code garbage. Then assist VO for the empty-netter.
  4. WARNING! NON-STAR WARS MOVIE! Every time someone says his full name I just think the bad cop in First Blood say... "Peterka. John J?"
  5. Meesa JJ Peterka. Meesa your humble goal scorer!
  6. Even your most talented lines need someone who does the boardwork and is just a bit more of a grinder, or just crazy. They often end up having great 3-year runs and then disappear while the superstars do their work. Your Kevin Stevenses. More recently in Toronto - Hyman or Bunting.
  7. Really dark Washington feed or is it the arena?
  8. I like my story for his nickname better.
  9. On the one hand: all of these players are mid-to-late 30s when they had the operation and were already in the "lost a step" category and trying to hang on for a few more veteran savvy seasons. And in some cases (Kesler, Jovo) they already had a ton of heavy wear on those tires. On the other hand: Kane is already mid-30s and has more games played than any of them.
  10. Personally, I'd put Mitts on the top line (at least until the full shield comes off and Cozens can see the puck on his blade again), but if you're trying to jumpstart Cozens, then Tuch/Skinner is usually a good way to go.
  11. Cool. Now go win 39 more in a row.
  12. The team that played yesterday sure is winning a lot of foot races and puck battles in the 3rd period.
  13. Cozens just yelling over and over, "With the blast shield face shield down I can't even see. How am I supposed to shoot?"
  14. Skinner with patient pull and score.
  15. Really sloppy thus far this period.
  16. Catching up. Excellent shift by Benson all around on the Dahlin goal.
  17. Not being from the area I can easily say: that defeatist use of "Because Buffalo".
  18. Packers, Twins, Canucks (Bure), Sabres. I haven't followed the NBA in decades, but there was that magical time in the '90s when I liked the Hornets and Suns (purple!) and Bulls. I also really liked the 1987-88 era Vikings with Isiaac Holt, DJ Dozier, and a guy named Walker Lee Ashley. So many good names on those squads. Also purple. Why? No reason. Who needs reasons when you've got the Sabres?
  19. I was about to say Bang Bang Rosen. Edit: I should say "It's like poetry. It (slant) rhymes."
  20. 7 of the next 8 on the road. Good. This team needs to get in formation, lock s-foils, and accelerate to attack speed on this season.
