  1.

    BUFFALO SABRES

UFA in 2014: Matt Moulson, Steve Ott, Cody McCormick, Zenon Konopka, John Scott, Matt D'Agostini, Kevin Porter, Henrik Tallinder, Alexander Sulzer, Ryan Miller.

RFA in 2014: Tyler Ennis, Marcus Foligno, Jamie McBain, Brayden McNabb.

    Top Prospects:

    Rasmus Ristolainen, D, Rochester (AHL)

    Nikita Zadorov, D, Rochester (AHL)

    Joel Armia, RW, Rochester (AHL)

Jake McCabe, D, Wisconsin (Big 10)

    Mark Pysyk, D, Rochester (AHL)

Others of Interest: Drew Stafford, Mikhail Grigorenko, Johan Larsson, J.T. Compher, Matt Hackett.

No-Trade Clauses: Christian Ehrhoff (modified), Ryan Miller (limited).

The Plan: New GM Tim Murray gets to put his stamp on the organization and has a challenging position to take right off the bat if he's going to deal G Ryan Miller, who has clearly been the Sabres' best player this season. But, Miller will be an unrestricted free agent and is attractive enough that he should bring a quality package in return.

There are several other Sabres veterans that could be moved, including LW Matt Moulson, C Steve Ott and D Henrik Tallinder, and it's easy enough to look at the Sabres and shed all veterans as they build for the future -- expecting that they are still a few years away from icing a competitive team -- but Buffalo will have to keep a certain number of vets around if only to reach the salary floor next season.

    >Feel like that's a contradiction

  2. I'm not sure about the ages of anyone here, but for those of us that grew up playing Pokemon games, specifically Pokemon gameboy games (i.e. Red, Blue, Yellow) then you'll love this. Even if you didn't you might appreciate such an experiment.

So, for those who don't know what the game is, here's a brief synopsis: You play as a pokemon trainer, and you're job is to beat all of the gym leaders. You get up to 6 pokemon, who all have different aspects, and you train them to make them better while you try to beat all of the gym leaders.

As far as the experiment, here's a rundown:

Someone set up a program to simulate Pokemon Red online and be played by whoever wants to play it. The user simply inputs the commands of a gameboy, and plays. However, it's set up so the amount of players is unlimited, and so the program is being bombarded by conflicted commands while trying to beat the game. Specifically, about 80,000 commands at once, of which of course it takes sequentially. As you can imagine, the game is chaos. And yet, they've been oddly successful too. They're about (1/3)----->(1/2) way through the game, and it's been about 6 days. In comparison, someone who's played this game, which they clearly have, can beat this in a day or two.

Maybe it sounds boring, but it's actually kinda fascinating to watch. It even has CNN talking about it

  3. Not quite. If US plays Canada, the loser would play for the bronze medal.

No, this is the quarter finals, its win or go home. Both the US and Canada have to win tomorrow to face each other in the semis where the loser goes on to play in the bronze game.

Tomorrows games are win or go home

I think he may be referring to the next round

  4. Russia was up 2-0, but T.J. Oshie won it with a last second field goal.

That's how I remember it anyway. It was pretty early and I was pretty tired.

you missed the part where TJ went all happy gilmore and took off his skate to stab Tarnasko in the face and then he fired a 150mph slapper that took Bob in and thru the net........ or maybe my meds created a weird dream state

You were both pretty close, you're just missing the part where Regan came out of the stands wearing an American flag while Hulk Hogan's "I am a Real American" theme song blared on the loud speakers

  5. Really? Actually that's perfect, I can fit in some skating before while it's nice out. Thanks a bunch, appreciate it.

It says hockey game of the day at 6-8pm, but it's only showing Sweeden vs. Latvia, and I can't find any other listings for 8pm hockey on NBC networks

######, and now they went from Sweeden vs. Latvia to Swiss vs. Czech. :wallbash:

  6. I know this doesn't belong in here, but it seemed like a good thread for what I'm asking: I'd asked before of any way to watch the olympic games online after the fact, and Josie gave me tunnel bear, but does anyone know any other way? I'm trying to watch the US-Russia game (I've heard it's amazing,I still don't know the score). I'd use tunnel bear, but I'm at my folk's house and I'm hesitant to download it on their computer.

  7. If you're cool with streaming, I just downloaded Tunnel Bear and switched my geo domain to the UK... so I'm watching all the BBC stuff live- pretty sure they have replays of stuff too. Recording wise, I'm not sure, but it's a start. Hope that helps..

Tunnel Bear? Never heard of it, I'll have to check it out, thanks for the advise.

  8. If Yak played for the Sabres what do u think is +/- would be?

    He's basically a rookie.

Not much better honestly. He's just lazy; he's a lesser version of Ovechkin, who, despite leading the league in goals and being 6th in points, has an astounding -17. Girgensons, who is a rookie and not a highly touted number one pick, has a -10 to Yak's -29, and Girgenson plays on the worst team in the league.

He let himself be passed by Weber? :)

You're right, Weber has put in a late season charge to cling to that spot actually, -32 to Yak's -29

  9. We should have traded for Yak, too late now

I was definitely wrong about him

He was the first pick for a reason and is not a bust.

I can see him playing in FLA

Where is this coming from? Has he done something miraculous to reverse his league-worst +/-?
