  1. The Sabres have not allowed themselves any flexibility in development by doing what they've done with him so far. He's our second pair anchor for better (someday) or worse (thr foreseeable future)
  2. We have hung out in here talking about this exact game 1000 times over the last 12 years of my life
  3. Excited to use Dahlin for 28 minutes in an early home loss to a bad team again. Surely this won't hurt us later in the desperate race for 8th
  4. He is far from the only or biggest problem. But your energy line has an extremely capped ceiling when they are completely incapable of doing a single thing with the puck. Throwing that out after goals this year has been a joke. It is a guarantee that we won't answer quickly or take momentum back
  5. This thread has been people having a reasonable discussion about the many bad things tonight and then you throwing a fit because someone said the G word. That's always what happens lmao
  6. We do, and we talk about all of those things, but 1.) You're a goalie and that bias is obvious to everyone 2.) Our goaltending has been bottom 5 when adjusting for the things you complain about for a decade + 3.) You are guilty of what you say we are - you NEVER even suggest that goaltending could be a problem
  7. I'm not even convinced power should be in the league yet let alone getting 24 a night and an 8 mil extension
  8. It's time to start ignoring this guy when crafting our offseason desires. If he is around any given game, great. But your roster structure shouldn't rely on it
  9. If a move didn't happen, no move ever could have happened. PA, I told you the Sabrespace commandment. Yet you taunt its most committed adherents
  10. If we show up at a level we haven't against Philly yet this year, their goalie would br happy to let us back in. Not confident we will.
  11. Wish I could catch you in the concourse again, but I didn't draw this game. What's the next one you're up for? Or do you just go on a whim
  12. Lotta chatter about what to do when you're at the 1 yard line. I downloaded and parsed some data since 2020: If the Bills want to run, it hasn't really mattered what formation they use, they have been successful on 50% of those play. If they want to pass, they need to pass more frequently from under center and less frequently out of shotgun (in particular, Dorsey passes way less from under center at the 1 yard line than Daboll) The data doesn't distinguish between QB runs and RB runs but league-wide historic data says that under center QB sneak > shotgun QB sneak > shotgun handoff > under center handoff, I imagine it's somewhat similar for Buffalo. The Bills have gone to shotgun at the 1 yard line 37% of the time, league average is 33%.
  13. I don't think it's even a question which goalie you start. The minute you sit the hot guy for the first game because it's "easier" or for any other reason, you're asking to lose both games. There are 2 points up to be claimed tonight and we need to do everything we can with the resources we have to get those two points. Tonight, that means starting UPL. We need to wipe the slate clean tomorrow and ask the same question, at which point the answer is "start Levi since UPL just played last night." The only exception is an extreme - your starter is Ryan Miller, your backup is Patrick Lalime, you play the 29th place Panthers at home on Friday and the President's Trophy Winning Detroit Red Wings on the road on Saturday. When you have 3 goalies who are near the same level and one is playing well at the moment, you prioritize that one until you can't.
