  1. I think Olofsson is going to be so good
  2. I could be completely wrong though, that's just my gut impression, if we sign him I'll watch some video
  3. Everything I've read from Tampa and seen myself indicates that, while this was certainly true perhaps even this time last year, Stralman is Done with a capital 'd' or perilously close to it He's not the Stralman we know and love, or even the slightly worse but still lovable Stralman that came after
  4. (I hope we don't sign Stralman)
  5. Oh for sure, I just used Steven as an extreme example for what Tage needs to add to his shot for it to be considered good and a product of him being a good shooter, not a product of him being tall. I think he can get there, as it's purely a repetition thing.
  6. Two of those guys will be good NHLers for the bulk of the season. And we could get lucky and have more.
  7. Because a good shot isn't having less than ten nice goals in a full season. If those were accurate representations of how dangerous his shot is, it'd be one thing, but he skies so many while waiting for those rare ones to come out that I think it's disengenuous to simply state Tage's shot is good. Stamkos can pick corners like that with that velocity....but the velocity is generated from elite form, not a 7 foot stick, and he is capable of replicating at a "good" (in reality, much better - elite) level. Tage is far more likely to take a shot attempt that kills his team's possession as it skies over the bar and around the boards than he is to be remotely dangerous. A shot with that velocity and "apparent" pinpoint ability from those highlights shouldn't be sub-7% on his career, but it is. Because it's not a good shot
  8. That's the hope eh?
  9. This is good to read. Last season, if anyone approached him, the puck was a lock to wind up on the other team's stick
  10. I don't think Tage has a great shot, I think he has a ludicrously long stick because of his height which gives him leverage. The guy whiffed on enough one timer attempts and sailed enough shots way high and wide that I don't count the velocity that leverage gives him as "a good shot" Hopefully he's honed that a bit
  11. They're a shrewd move at 2C, and two relatively small signings of/trades for legitimately good middle six wingers, away from having a roster structure capable of making noise in the spring, and I expect no less, and there's no reason to expect less from a team comfortable with making the moves they did last offseason.
  12. I thought the same thing. I would never ask that to a player. If you have a question about the trade, wait for the availability of the guy who made it happen
  13. Thank gawd As much as i wanna give a 230 pound 29 year old Islanders winger a long term deal
  14. If we somehow were blessed enough to acquire Aho, a forward structure of Skinner - Jack - xxx xxx - Aho - Reinhart wins playoff series shortly
  15. Aho, he's a better player and plays center. An absolute machine offensively and 100% hockey IQ
  16. A guy with a blue check on twitter said that Aho's initial ask was 5 yrs, 9.5 mil per. Go into the 4 firsts range and get Aho, he'd sign it
  17. Chatter by whom? @Thorny
  18. Larry and Zemgus kept up those splits after Berglund left, and Mitts remained a top 3 most offensively used forward all season long. Before and after Berglund, Mitts was overwhelmed with that situation. And while Berglund was here, our middle six pulled a 12 game stretch of combining for just one goal. We were kept afloat during that time with regular .980 performances from the goalies, and Jack/Jeff pacing for 100pts/60 goals. We started the deterioration while Berglund was here, winning just 3 of his final 11 games in a Sabre uniform before he used his elite leadership and locker room skills to quit on the team
  19. I don't see a difference
  20. This definitely makes sense. Can you give any information on the nature of your sources? Understandable if not. I do wonder how much NSH would be willing to retain, as it would lessen the blow
  21. Time travelling with a video recorder and changing some minds Crippling Tampa or Carolina with an offer sheet, being happy to go up to 12 million for either player Being willing to soup up packages with pieces like Mittelstadt It's really important to me and I think the difference between being a playoff team and having another season like this past one
  22. This is such a broad brush and ignores so many miles of context that I'd go as far as calling it a completely dishonest way to frame the way this season played out.
  23. I have no idea what his fancy stats are, but you're right that he was awful this year, he's going to be 30 before October, and if he doesn't return to form it's another Kyle contract to have to maneuver around, and I don't put the likelihood of a turnaround particularly high My reaction is also a part of my continued crusade for no half measures at 2C But by all means, let's grab him, Perry and Simmonds and take a run at that 2011 cup ?
