  1. Either yesterday or Saturday his team scored 6 goals and he didn't have any points. I just thought that was fluky, I doubt it's indicative of the season he's having.
  2. There's a reason that cautious, conservative, rational posters (thinking of dudacek but there were more, and likely X. somewhere too god bless him) were seriously discussing and supporting the idea of handing out an offer sheet this summer, when it's typically such a "from outer space" proposition. The organization needs a large net talent increase which is hard to do when you don't have very many talented assets in the first place.
  3. Let's assume they decide to do this. What does Jack fetch? If you're concerned about winning any point in the next 3 years, it'd have to be a trade for someone with similar value. He wouldn't fetch Matthews, McDavid, MacKinnon by himself. Say we manage to do Eichel for Stamkos or Seguin or something. Do a similar thing with Reinhart - what does he bring back? Can you get Ehlers? Maybe get Rakell, give or take something small? Then Risto goes, whether you get forward or D, unless you do what I'd like and add significant assets to him, you aren't getting a great player. You now have Olofsson - Seguin - Rakell Skinner - Mojo - Sobotka Sheary - Mitts - Vesey LOG somewhere in there maybe a possible forward valued at Risto's level, whatever you think that might be. and the same D as tonight, with Miller or Risto's replacement in for Risto. You didn't change any of the roster issues by doing this. The lineup could get a jolt of energy from the trades initially, like they did with the new coach. It likely wouldn't even be as good as 8-1-1, or the 10 game win streak. And then you're back in the same place with the exact same issues in the exact same places. The other option is blowing up for another 3-5 years, and primarily aiming for picks and prospects with these deals, but I don't think that's what you mean.
  4. Every time I feel down about the Bills I watch any other NFL team play. Any time I feel down about Allen, I watch his peers aside from Mahomes and Watson. (Yes, I know we should have drafted one of those guys.) NFL teams are not that good, and I wouldn't trade Allen for any QB not named Mahomes or Watson, under the age of whatever Russell Wilson's age is. The reason why I wouldn't trade him for Jackson is because John Harbaugh is one of ~3 coaches that would successfully convert their franchises the way he has for it to work the way it has, and we aren't one of those franchises.
  5. I have no interest in trading Reinhart, however, I'd pay $50 to hear other GMs' answers to this question Just logged onto twitter. I follow ZERO hockey people (that talk about the Sabres) (anymore). This is the first thing in my feed: So funny
  6. Lol the stat guys on twitter still beg for Pominville
  7. Going to restate this since it's been confirmed with the conclusion of the game - Outside of Eichel, Reinhart, Skinner, and Olofsson, none of our other 8 forwards have contributed a goal in 8 of the last 9 games. And Victor only has one in that span. We're piling up ominous depth scoring stats the way we did as we free fell last season. I don't care much at all about the result tonight. It's one game in 82. We never win in Chicago. I do care that we faced a team that is more than happy to give others free rein over their slot, and typically appears shorthanded in their own zone regardless of the mediocrity of their opponent, and we instead made them look like peak St. Louis Blues. This goes hand in hand with the stats mentioned above. It has been a massive issue since Jason's first July here. There isn't an end in sight.
  8. Yikes. Come to think of it, I didn't even get to see our only victory against Chicago in the last, like, 12 years. Pretty crazy
  9. I think they actually make them look worse. Forwards dropping like flies and we're healthy-scratching a good second pairing defnseman.
  10. Is there a fan that keeps whistling? It is throwing me off
  11. Sure, the discussion was just why he's not looking better, and that's why
  12. My new crusade is definitely going to be that roofing pucks is quite often one of the worst things you can try to do when shooting
  13. Saad's 15th breakaway of the night yields little
  14. Nothing about his high school production or his post-draft season in NCAA suggests that he would be producing a lot at a young age in the NHL. His college production in particular was pedestrian
  15. I don't really know what the players behind him are doing, but Mitts wasn't a reach at the time, as the draft wasn't super skilled up top.
  16. Mitts is what his pre and post draft non NHL production suggests he should be
  17. Why on earth are they showing this highlight reel
  18. Risto and McCabe are out there with the Eichel line too often. That's not their job
  19. The Sabres have four forwards clustered at the top - Eichel has 12 goals, Sam and Jeff have 8, Olofsson has 7, 6 of which came very early and on the PP. In 8 of the last 9 games, no forward outside of these four has scored a goal.
  20. Also, Jack, call me crazy but if you have a 3 on 1 and the pass to Olofsson isn't there, you should shoot rather than trying to pass to *checks notes* Girgensons
  21. Chicago has one of the most porous defensive zones of any NHL team to play in the last few years. You'd have absolutely no idea if this was the first time you've watched them.
  22. Risto's passing on that PP was an abomination. They missed Vesey getting tripped - he high sticked the guy while getting back up.
