Excellent post. With Adams mentioning The Team would like to reward Cozens, Dahlin and Power with long term deals this offseason, that would leave Quinn and Peterka for the Summer of 24, that would provide maximum flexibility moving forward. I am one of the biggest Adams Supporters on here. That being said Next year the goal has to be playoffs, no questions about it I can’t say I blame him with everyone else leaving. Yes Adams has been GM for three off seasons, but the First One was to attempt to make Jack Happy by signing Hall and trading for Staal. Remember the owner did say that Hall makes them a Stanley Cup Contender. Fortunately He also drafted Quinn and Peterka that offseason. The second one was the start of the tear down and rebuild, not everyone will agree, but to me that’s year one to me

Lance Lysowski discussed this on the latest episode of the Maintenance Day Podcast released “Linus kind of hosed the Sabres with the way those negotiations played out, from what I heard. Linus kind of lead them to believe they were in the drivers seat and were comfortable and then the big offer came in from the Bruins. With that injury history and everything else with the Sabres Plans they were like ewwww, don’t know if we go there with all Ullmark’s Injuries and where they were with development. It’s a tough pill to swallow to watch that guy play in Boston the way He is, but the way Boston Defends, that’s a juggernaut right there.” Disclaimer these are Lance Lysowski’s Words not mine. “

The Sabres Roster - What do we have and what do we need?

None of the Canucks Pairings are good this season, so with the Sabres it would only be 16-18 minutes a night. It would feel like a vacation -
The Sabres Roster - What do we have and what do we need?

Demko has looked good in previous years when the Canucks were not a complete tire fire in front of Him. He is out until mid January, He might be a much better use of the Potential Chychrun Trade Assets -
The Sabres Roster - What do we have and what do we need?

Let’s look at this from a different perspective. Here is the breakdown of the percentage of points that each player in the Sabres Top 6 has generated at 5v5 Thompson 59% Skinner 69% (nice) Tuch 75% Cozens 63% Quinn 63% Peterka 86% Mitts has generated five points or 31% of His Total Points at 5v5 For those that care about plus/minus every player in the Sabres Top 6 is a positive player. Mitts is -12 And Mitts Advance Stats are well, not good Mitts is very good at face offs, but Cody Eakin was probably the best at this last year for the team. When a face off needed to be won, Eakin was put out for it with instructions to GTFO the ice after the puck was dropped. Eakin certainly is not a Top 6 Player under Granato. Mitts is more of a PP and Face Off Specialist, He is not a Top 6 Forward. Also Krebs has the exact number of 5v5 points that Mitts does with 100% of Kreb’s Points coming 5v5. He is a minus 3 for those asking. With Hinostronza out and the fact it’s only three games, I can see why Mitts is the choice. If there is a long term injury to the Top 6, He would not be the correct option -

I would try Krebs on Line 1 for 2 games until Skinner comes back. Move Asplund to 4C for two games and put Mitts back with Jost. I think it sends the wrong message that Mitts, who has played like ***** on 5v5 for almost the entire season, gets promoted to Line 1 after one good game.

Adams and the Front Office does realize this, hence trying to get Murray and Gibson to come here. Bear was a healthy scratch for Carolina until He was traded. Do you think there maybe there is a scenario where Adams might have called Rod Brindamour, who is not only the HC who wouldn’t play Bear, but also happens to be one of Adams Best Friends from the NHL, and might have asked for information. Then based on the information He received, Adams decided He wasn’t the right for the organization?

Interesting, I was a five year old in the seventies as well and yet I see a team that scored 232 goals in 82 games last year, that has already scored 109 goals in 28 games this year. That seems like a pretty good example of moving forward. If you want to blame Adams that’s Your Right. In Adams, I see someone who took over a franchise as GM in 2020 that had a disgruntled franchise center, a HC (who He could not replace right away) that would rather play Sobotka over Skinner, one who neutered Rasmus Dahlin and had Tage Thompson on the taxi squad. The team had a weak prospect pool and poor development track record of said prospects. Since then He promoted Granato to HC, who as We all know has help turn Tage and Dahlin into what appears to be franchise players He has revamped the front office from top to bottom, brought in an analytics department and built a prospect pool with depth. He also appears to have hit on a second round pick for the first time in a long time for the team. This franchise seems to be on the right track for the first time in a long while. I share season tickets with My Uncle who is one of the franchise’s inaugural STH from 1970. He turned 80 this year and He even believes in what Adams is building. Believe me, I wish Murray would have agreed to waive to come to the Sabres and that they would have had a Ty Smith level prospect under contract so that John Marino was paired with Owen Power. The Sabres are slowly changing Their Perception around the league and that should start to make Buffalo a more attractive trade/UFA Destination in the next coming months. They were the only team to offer Comrie a second year, that’s how they got Him to sign here and there was an overpay for Lybushkin in salary. The issue that the Sabres have been dealing with is the only players you can force to come here are the ones you draft, and even they do not sign with you all the time. And Eleven I will save you the trouble of responding to this. You Don’t Care

I’m not ready to completely dismiss Comrie yet. He was 2-1 before Samuelsson went out with His Injury and 2-6 after. Add in the fact that Jokiharju and Lyubuskin were also injured and for some inexplicable reason Granato decided to pair Dahlin-Power together for a few games while the rest of the D Pairs were AHL Level. He is due back around Christmas per Lance Lysowski, lets see how He does with normalized D Pairs.

Adams had a deal in place with Ottawa for Matt Murray, Murray nixed it. He was far enough into talks with the Ducks that Gibson was approached about waiving to come to Buffalo. Based on His Play Thankfully Gibson said no. There was plans outside of Comrie. If the right deal for Chychrun or Demko type is available He probably pulls the trigger. I agree the deals probably comes in the offseason. All teams will be in play, the slotting of the Sabres 2023 1st will be known and whether the salary cap will be going up one to four million will be established. I am a huge supporter of Adams Plan. From His Appearance on Sabres Live, it sounds like they would like to lock up Cozens, Dahlin and Power to Long Term Deals, the latter two can be signed to new deals after July 1st, meaning The Sabres Core will be locked in for years to come. At that point there is zero excuse not to make moves to shore up the defensive depth, bottom six and most importantly goaltending.

All joking aside, He struck a player with His Stick when He lost His Temper. There shouldn’t be a that much of a different standard when it’s a teammate
