That the front office will be staying intact

It’s rumored that there is a power sharing agreement already in place and the plan all along was to have Karmanos promoted to GM with Adams moving to a President Role. This is the reason behind Karmanos being named Associate and not Assistant GM Karmanos most likely takes Sam Ventura with Him to Pittsburgh and that would hurt tremendously

Karmanos and Ventura’s Families still live in Pittsburgh, that being said what is the better situation moving forward from a management standpoint. Since most of the hockey ops decisions are made with input from multiple sources, changing the structure of the front office as mentioned above to Adams POHO Karmanos GM Ventura AGM is probably the best way to go and I believe that was the plan all along, Adams new deal would be converted to POHO.

If Sam Ventura gets a promotion with the Sabres, I would maybe be Ok with this.

Shoulder injury and a hip pointer were mentioned at His End of the Year Presser I would look at Alex Kerfoot and Pierre Engvall as forwards to bring in as well. Compher’s Relationship with Granato probably makes Him the clubhouse favorite

I would add Alex Kerfoot and Pierre Engvall to the list. Also I highly doubt he would waive to come to Buffalo (for family reasons) but what about MAF for a year to back up Levi?

Putting Bjork (1.8 Million AAV) and Vinnie (1.7 Million AAV) in Rochester this season does prove they are not adverse to burying contracts in the AHL

Not for nothing, the Sabres postponed Adams and Granato's End of the Season Availability from Monday to Wednesday. I wonder if this has to do with possible changes to the coaching staff.

Agree with Dudacek here. Adams did not have any experience in a NHL Front Office and managed to assemble one of the most impressive FOs in the NHL. Adams knew what areas he needed help in and acquired that help over a two year period. Ventura has more experience in front offices and would follow GMKA’s Pathway to hiring the right people to assist Him. As analytics continues to grow in front offices, eventually persons with analytics backgrounds will become GMs. I do find it interesting that when Adams was thanking His Front Office Staff at the TDL Presser that he lead off with Ventura over Karmanos

Botterill made some questionable acquisitions and trades, hiring Krueger was the ultimate WTF Moment, but there is something very interesting about His Defense Corps from a few seasons ago

Chad DeDomincis has mentioned that the Sabres will be expanding their front office this off-season. He’s not sure exactly where it will will occur, scouting or analytics or possibly another AGM. My ideal offseason would be moving Adams to POHO and promoting Ventura to GM, with Adams continuing to have the final say in hockey related decisions.

Ventura is primarily responsible for the Jost and Stillman acquisitions and has revamped the Sabres Scouting Methods. It would be a huge loss for the Sabres
