Tage That was pretty -
Friedman was talking about the fact that the Columbus Job is very desirable for a couple reasons 1. The prospect pool and young players 2. Strong ownership group that’s good to work for 3. Columbus is a great place to live. Buffalo has two out of three of these

One year left after this one
-
Probably similar to what Ekholm when for a first, prospect and a roster defenseman.

Is Pegula going to be willing to pay Jeff Skinner 16 million dollars not to play hockey, when the prevailing thought is he will be reluctant to pay Granato 3.8 million not to coach? This deal would depend on Dougherty being willing to come to Buffalo, The Kings being willing to retain 3 million per season for three years and Pegula being willing to buy out Skinner. That’s a stretch that all three would happen
-
The other issue is 27 million dollars in cap space for your top three defenseman for the next three years is a little steep Look at next season for example they have 11 players signed and 26 million in cap space. Dougherty takes up 8 million of that, Mitts probably 6.5 million, Jokiharju 3 million, UPL probably around 2.5 and Krebs about a million. That’s 16 players with 5 million left in cap space with 2/3s of the fourth line still needing to be replaced. Oh and Peterka, Quinn, Tuch and Benson will all need new deals during that time as well.
-
That third line is intriguing, their skill sets might play off each other perfectly. Ryan Johnson sitting for Clague would be a travesty. His GF and Her Family are from Minnesota and will be in attendance. Plus He was teammates with Fabbro from Minnesota. And as Donny pointed out in the post game presser, Barkov slashed Johnson across the hands before stealing the puck on the first goal

Are they on the seven team M-NTC? He is playing good, but I would aim for Rasmus Anderson from Calgary Quote

This is from Lance Lysowski’s Mailbag in the Buffalo News. It backs up that Pegula stays out of the final draft day decisions

Pegula does set parameters for the team in terms of total spending, authorizes the contract extensions and is kept informed by Adams on a daily basis. He used to be much more involved in decision making, this is how the Sabres ended with Alex Nylander over Charlie McAvoy or Chychurn, McAvoy even told Jerry Forton he thought the Sabres were taking him. Since Kim Pegula’s Medical Issues, he has taken a step back from the day to day decision making as he has a large amount of trust in Adams. He does have His Roster favorites as reported by Jeff Marek (Zemgus and Peterka) so there was some misplaced sentimental feelings that went into re-signing both Zemgus and KO without adding any other experienced forwards. He does let the scouting staff make the final decisions on draft picks though. From various accounts, Adams does do a good job of insulating the Hockey Ops Department from Him and allows them to do their jobs.
