I'm mostly righty. I use my right had to put the entire clementine in my mouth. The extra fiber is good for you.

So, is this a 'no' to the poll question ??

Also, I bet dollars to donuts that you held that clementine (from Spain or Turkey or Morocco, right !!) in your right hand and peeled with your left ??

  2. Man C looks to win a fourth straight title and 5th in 6 years, or something like that.

Arsenal is in second, but within easy striking distance on the final match day of the season.

Both sides are just terrible examples of what English top football has become.

The EPL is so predictable these days with rich oil $ from the Gulf fueling the top sides.  Terrible.

At least there may be some fireworks in the offsesaon with Man C under scrutiny.  My bet is that it will be all washed away.  The EPL loves their profits over all else.  There is no way I see City being relegated.  Maybe fined.

Norwich City narrowly missed being promoted, which is probably best.  They are not good enough / rich enough to make any noise in EPL whenever they have been promoted.

I’ll believe it when I see it… especially since the link says he MIGHT move on.

    This is exactly right.

Both are going to test the FA market, which does not mean they will be leaving the Sabres.  Although, I do think that VO said he planned to play in Europe.  That would be very likely, I think.  Maybe Girgs too.

  4. All the talk of LHD versus RHD has me thinking.

I am taking an informal poll .. should this be it's own thread ?

And if so, should that thread have a poll ?

So, I am right handed, but find that I do some things where my left hand becomes the dominant hand and I hold with my right hand (insert winkie thingie here).

What do you say guys?  And dolls too, of course ...

How do you hold and peel an orange ??

    A banana ??

  5. Happy Birthday Zack Benson.  All of 19 years old today.  Can't buy a beer in NY, but can drink one if his parents are buying.  What a silly law.

Of course, if he is home in BC he can do what he wants at 19.

Sure.  If a trade that will make the Sabres better today is available and 11 is a piece needed to make that happen, definitely trade it.

Personally, as somebody else stated upthread, would rather see a solid prospect like Rosen (or one of the others if Rosen doesn't get a trade done) be part of that trade as that python has a really big slug of players working their way through to becoming waiver eligible and then becoming RFA / UFA eligible down the line too.  Plus, theoretically, one of the prospects would be viewed as being more valuable than 11 as they're a year to 3 closer to being NHL ready than that pick will be.

Welcome back, my friend, to the show that never ends ...

So glad you could attend, come inside, come inside ...

We live in northern Niagara county, right near Lake Ontario. You can see downtown Toronto clearly across the lake, and even coming down the hill Toward Lewiston it is clearly visible. Crystal clear high def hockey night in canada broadcasts with an antenna, no problem getting 590 sports talk out of Toronto...etc.

Now I'm not saying Toronto is a worse city than Buffalo..it is many times Bigger, tons of money, etc. But we took a trip to Toronto last weekend, and wow, my wife said she had enough and doesn't want to go back for a long time. Getting around is a nightmare.  Downtown is a disaster, on the weekend (not weekday rush hour) we sat and sat and inched up on Lakeshore Blvd just trying to get anywhere near downtown. A bit farther outside the city...you can deal with some traffic on 407 if you want to pay something like $40+ in tolls for a trip across the city.  The 401?  Mid day (not rush hour), no accidents, yet it was stop and go for MILES, and when you were going it was 20mph (worse than any memories I had of driving on the Cross Bronx expressway).  And go to their 'fast' growing areas like Markham and Vaughan (we spent most of our time near in Vaughan or downtown) and you get terrible surface road traffic, and its just strip plaza after strip plaza..then a few big gray warehouses to break up the strip plazas, and then a lot of parking lots and 'floor tile' warehouse/showrooms.

Again, I'm not trying to bash Toronto, but my wife grew up in NY city and still visits friends/relatives there, and this trip to Toronto (and the outer parts of the city)...lets just say she doesn't have a high regard to her former home in NY city anymore, but what we saw of 'day to day' living in the GTA I think is even a bit lower.

We in Halifax and any other place in Canada don't call it The Great Satan for nothing.  I grew up in Toronto and my feelings on it are well known, but the NHL team known as The Great Satan Leaves has nothing to do with it.

Remember those asshats in Jersey who cheered America's comeuppance?

That's you if you cheered the Leafs' demise.

I never understood why fans of one team should take joy in another teams failure, especially Sabre fans in recent / current years.

Something, something ... glass houses ... something, something ... throwing stones ...

I take no joy in the dastardly Flyers missing the playoff this season.  Why should I ?

I cheer for the Sabres to win not for the others to lose.  Who cares about the others ?

Also, has the Jersey cheering not been debunked ?  I don't see anyone doing that in America.  I do understand Palestinians celebrating in East Jerusalem and Gaza and The West Bank and in other places.  They would do the same today.  I don't think if 911 happend today that the masses that are domonstrating now in the States would cheer it.

Britany and Normandy were amazing. Went to the D day invasion site at Omaha Beach, what a gross misstep that day was. St. Malo was a cool stop and the crepes and salted butter caramels in northern France were yummmmm

Lithuania was awesome, almost anywhere in the county was enjoyable.

Latvia was a mixed bag, Riga was Meh to me, too much of a bigger city feel and kind of trashy. Went to Sigulda and did a country sauna the first night where this Latvian sauna master lady beat the $hit out of us with birch whisks butt naked and it was a whole traditional thing; then went out and jumped into the ice cold pond, some tea and fruit then a relaxing break on a haystack under the stars covered in wool blankets, then rinse and repeat. Kuldiga was an awesome small town and Jurmala was a nice beach town only 30 min from Riga.

Then we got stuck in Paris for a day as that's the way the flights worked out. They're prepping for the Olympics and it's even crappier than usual, holy hell is that city just terrible. Then someone at the airport stole my bag of Baltic chocolates that I was collecting through the whole trip, as if I needed to hate Paris any more.

Currently 2.5 hours away from landing in Toronto, going to hit the all you can eat Japanese/Korean BBQ in Toronto before driving home.

Can't wait to plan the next trip!

    'We' ?????

Travelling with your sister again, eh ??

I will take Toronto and NYC over Paris... And that's saying something. It's a disgusting city full of $hit and urine everywhere, the food is nowhere near as quality as people make it. The parisian attitudes are toxic.

However, the rest of France is sublime and being in Paris is a necessary evil as the gateway to a lot of places.

Fair enough.  Parisians are insufferable, but it's hard to avoid them.  There are just so many sights to see.  Whenever we went to France we would have 1 day in Paris at either end and spend most of our time around the other regions.  Southern France (not as far as the Riviera and Nice and all that snooty jazz) is quite delightful.  Provence in our favourite.

Sadly Leaving the Baltics, one last day in Paris before flying to Toronto. Hate Paris, but it was the only way the flights made sense.

Safe travels.  My sympathies for your having to pass through The Great Satan.  And who hates Paris ?????  Especially in the Spring.
