Leaves. I just don't want them to win the Carrion 2016.
-
I want to see his tenure in Toronto fail. But that would be the case with any Leaves coach.

What the coach did was forgivable, but unacceptable. I've done some work with players in juniors, and very few, even in the major juniors will have a pro career. The only professionals are really the coaches and the scouts. Even in the OHL, that coach had 15-17 year old kids on his roster, so there is a starting point for how you behave IMO. Some of those kids will be modelling their coaches behavior for a lifetime. The opening question was a soft lead in. The young man throws the coach a soft lead - not a great journalistic technique, but it amounts to a request to comment. The coach knows that. The coach could have said anything he wanted. But he chose to intimidate and come in guns blazing because he didn't hear questions with rising intonations? It is bad form. Forgivable, but unacceptable. IMO.

I'm not one to put much stock in the results of pre-season games- mostly because coaches haven't game-planned and the NHL/AHL mismatches are just about every other shifts. But we can begin to see some lines taking shape and the beginning of some ideas - already I know this is going to be a lot more fun than the last two years.

I don't think this even gets reviewed. The Godhead is now in Toronto: Shanny, Lou, and Babs.

Woke up thinking about Babcock. This will be the longest year of his life. The Buffalo job was his if he had wanted it.
-
Samson had a solid game by the way. Terrific defensively, Created offense, and got shots to net. He was good.

Sabres Defensemen -- Omnibus Preseason Thread

I don't think so.....but use code for Eichel, just in case. -
Are you kidding? Covering the OHL is somewhere between covering a large high school or small college basketball game most of the year with the average player being about 17. The guy couldn't get through a boring post-game question.

He almost got a full NHL retirement about 15 minutes ago. -
My bad. Need my eyes checked.
-
Toronto is helpless.
-
Connor Brown.....a kid Babcock really likes. Two way forward. Probably not the fastest, but the kid is a forward skating without the puck.
-
My goodness, we haven't seen that gear since Mogilny.

It is beautiful.

ahem, Martyr-boy, This is not about the majority, or being the only original or contrary opinion. This is about you being a snit. It's about your inability to command your native language, or thereby communicate in a manner in which you repeatably imply, but never stand by your implications. It is a parade of daftness, and denials starting with I. You implied I was being intolerant, did you not? I guess you didn't mean to imply any emasculating comments for the entire board? Kuyba ya, holding hands? But you just did. It's you.
-
What? Not the victim now? I'm still pissed at the "snarky" comment if you wondered what set me off. Either you are stupid or you love this game you play. Ironically, it is you accusing reporters of their lack of eloquence. Everything you write needs an "I" statement to clarify your initial lack of clarity. Good writing doesn't lend itself to implications. And you call it intolerance. Nope. It is you. So nice try. Here's a challenge, go a week without typing "I"......"I" dare you. Every thread becomes about you. Have you ever once considered it isn't everyone else, but you?
-
The board martyr. Bleeding again. See how it runs.
-
No. This group is tolerant. It is you. So stop with the I'm a victim of intolerance shtick. That is your game. And now you've generalized my "snark" into group intolerance, which is a logical flaw on its own. Perhaps you don't have enough command of the language to realize what you are often implying. It is your own in-eloquence. It happens repeatedly. It is repeatedly you at the center of it. It is you Not an intolerant mob. You. Food for thought.

Fair point. Well, he was fired there. I just think you approach the job differently at the amateur level. I just don't think you praise the guy for that.
-
he hasn't impressed so far. he's gotta play himself into shape here.
-
And I think you are a toad for giving him any credit at all.
-
Oh please, must this continually your game. You seem to approve of this coach, no? And you seem to be suggesting that people covering him ( the OHL, so most likely interns, deserved to be treated poorly). But no kid should be taught to emulate this jackass. And that's what I thought what you were suggesting by your (what your would teach comment) but you're a cryptic one yourself. And it was only the profanity that bothered you? This guy was being a jerk well before he dropped the F-bomb.

I would love this!
