Carrier's development (and for that matter Stewart's play, if he stays with the Sabres) will be an interesting barometer of TM's talent evaluation skills.
I'm willing to give TM the benefit of the doubt and say that the blurbs/numbers look promising -- although I'm not that psyched about his apparent lack of speed.

MINNEAPOLIS -- There will be no gold-medal repeat for Team USA at the World Junior Championships. And they can thank two Sabres prospects for causing their ultimate set of problems.
Defenseman Nikita Zadorov had two power-play goals and Mikhail Grigorenko also scored as Russia posted a 5-3 quarterfinal win today in Malmo, Sweden. Zadorov scored both of his goals from the point on a 5-on-3 situation in the second period to put Russia into the semifinals against the Sweden-Slovakia winner.

So there is a chance the Sabres could own the top two picks in the draft this year? The Islanders, IMO, would be insane not to take a top three pick and hope to do bad next year. Seems much more likely the Sabres will have two first rounders next year.

3 goals 5A, +5 having missed five games and hit six posts (actual number)..As streaky as he is, hopefully the posts will change to goals soon as he gets used to a different system and line mates.
No surprise he is doing well. He finally has some support. No surprise he missed five games already either...

It's as if Roy and Vanek can't stay consistent. Either one is hot and the other is a vanishing act. Roy was on fire earlier and Vanek was a no show, now it's the other way around.

So far, looks like Murry pulled off a great trade....Now, Let's go Blues!!! Get to the Conference finals!!
