We can agree that we really do not like Ralph.  I would just assume keep Jack and hope that his game can improve somehow...as the return on a trade may be disappointing (ex. ROR trade).  Unfortunately I cannot agree that the Pegula's are the victim of bad advice.  I'm pretty sure nobody recommended to hire Adams with no GM experience.  It's not rocket science to hire a PROVEN NHL front office that has a track record of winning in this league.

Funny cause at this point I think Adams was their best hire out of everyone! I was referring to Ralphie who many claim is a good coach. Remember even JBotto came highly regarded and I hate to admit it but many including myself thought it was a good hire at the time. Obviously he turned out to be a  complete train-wreck and his legacy will always be what was without doubt the worse trade in Sabre (and possbily NHL) history. I loved exGMTM getting ROR and yes I liked the Kane trade and again Botto gave Kane away for basically nothing. But having said that Iike KD's moves thus far and love to see the Sabres even come close to being the team Carolina is...

  2. I have to admit I was thinking Jack was playing so badly to get Ralphie fired as he usually does but now it looks as if Jack simply wants out. meanwhile, hopefully he can take RK with him as he is a absolutely brutal coach. No wonder Edmonton got rid of him so fast...I know everyone is quick to blame the Pegulas but these guys they keep hiring come highly recommended...

  3. so I keep hearing where some are saying we should put RK upstairs and hire a new coach. I really think at thus point we should try and do anything and everything to get Jim Rutherford to come here  and let him decide who coaches. Someone on here mentioned how Scotty Bowman is the only NHL coach to win two cups with different teams...well Jim Rutherford is the only NHL GM to do that (Carolina & Pittsburg). he should be made President and given total 100% control. This team desperately needs someone like him to run the whole ship. Let him decide who stays and who goes (although I think he's like KA as GM)

I know the owners maybe saved the franchise for Buffalo although Golisano had a lot to do with that. Also, the reason for not having a president of hockey ops? The owner. He opted not to. I personally think the Pegulas check most every box with the exception of hiring people who will work well with them but firmly still in charge as opposed to hiring someone qualified to run the team and stepping aside to allow them to make hockey decisions. The Pegulas are better fans than they are at running a hockey team in my opinion.

long story short this team needs a President who knows hockey NOW for starters (new coach wouldn't hurt either)

  5. truth is Buffalo was lucky to get the Pegulas as they have provided money and a clear desire to win. They have allowed spending to the cap and have tried numerous times to listen to "experts" who have told them to hire exGMTM, exGM JBotto, numerous coaches and truth be told they have a ton of money invested in the Sabres. No other team blames owners when there is a problem.  If not for the Pegulas this team may be in Quebec or some other place right now. I can assure you they are just as frustrated as any of us with how bad this team is. Maybe the first step should be to hire a president of hockey operations like Brian Burke or someone who has years of experience and will hire the proper people. It is absurd to even suggest that this team is as bad as they are showing right now and clearly there is yet again a "who's in charge" issue...the old saying fits here..the inmates are truly running the prison and the inmates are being paid very well to do so. This truly is a country club  atmosphere here...clearly players don't give a s**t...just about getting paid every two weeks. Sad...

  6. I see Carolina who are what we can only wish to be, just added a goo done in a trade for Cedric Paquette. Apparently they want to get tougher to play against according to coach Rod Brind'Amour who was a tough SOB when he played. Unlike our pansies who send absolutely no fear through any team. I am sure Brind'Amour or any other coach would accept last night's pathetic effort. NOT

    What did they offer you?

    Who is the soccer coach?

In 2014, Krueger made the switch from ice hockey to soccer, becoming director of Southampton in February 2014. Shortly after, he was appointed chairman of the club. He was dismissed on April 12 2019; set to leave on June 30 when his contract expired.

Funny thing is that I actually think we are a much better team now then last year...we are just not using the players properly and that is completely on the coach . I am also tired of Jack's constant temper tantrums while providing zero leadership.

  8. Living north of Toronto it is funny to hear all the Leaf fans going on about how this is their year and how well they are playing. fact is the Canadian division is pretty bad and I said at the beginning that the Leafs probably would not lose a game (being sarcastic but they won't lose many). Montreal of all teams is also hot which goes to show you that a team can win on shear heart and tradition and the excuse we always hear about the Sabres an dhow they have so many new players and it takes time to gel is hogwash  as other teams add lots of new players and still play well.  Only good thing is in our division no one is wining a bunch other then Boston and Philly but obviously we'd never end up ahead of them anyways but once we get playing again hopefully we can make up ground.

it is so sad to hear stories like this...no one knows the long-term effects this will have on people yet there are many who chuck it off like it is a joke or over-rated. Best wishes to you and your family...

  10. Skinner is a goal scorer, and nothing more. To expect more is just poor coaching. Anyways the OReilly trade is obviously the worse by miles and the tank season would have made everyone look like geniuses if the NHL had just once let us win a stupid lottery and we got McDavid. I am really tired of Jack's temper tantrums when things don;t go his way. He seems to want out of here now and I can only say good riddance.  Even at their worse, the team still has passion and heart when Lindy/Darcy were here and I think letting them go was mistake number one.

Mistake #2 was hiring JBotto...3 hiring Ralph. The list goes on and on...

  11. I simply cannot believe how bad they played...they get absolutely NO mileage out of a combined salary of what?... 33 million (Eichel, Hall, Skinner and Okposo) the coaching is absolutely brutal and not using players to the best of their abilities on on the coach...Lindy's team outplayed and out worked the Sabres wanted it more and deserved the win more...sick of temper tantrums and excuses...truly is a sad state of affairs

  12. looks like Jack is working on getting this latest coach fired...and while I think Ralphie has to go (please hire someone like Babs who will not put up with this crap) I wonder whether it is time jack goes too...as someone pointed out McDavid probably covers three times the ice jack does in one shift.  And it appears Ralphie has no clue how to put together lines and is going totally against the basic principal of coaching which is always try to get the best of what a player is good at from them. Skinner is best at scoring. He is being totally wasted on 4th line. Jack/Hall is clearly not working...I said yesterday Washington would find a way to win as that is what teams do, while we would find a way to lose, cause that is what this team does. Unfortnately I was right...

  13. Just heard that Tampa Bay has sent D Braydon Coburn, Cedric Paquette and a 2022 second-round pick from the Tampa Bay Lightning, in exchange for Marian Gaborik and Anders Nilsson. Of oucrse both Bagorik and Nilsson are and will remain on long-term injured reserve meaning they do not count against the cap. Ottawa get two half-descent players that will help their lineup but really it is just a way Tampa Bay to shed salary. I think this kind of trade should not be allowed as it is not a hockey trade. Tampa clearly gains nothing but cap space which does not equal a hockey trade where both sides benefit on the ice where it should matter. Should this kind of trade be allowed???

  14. GMKA seems to be doing extactly what Carolina does by slowing making solid moves and good signings. Nothing too flashy but really good hockey sense; been a while since we saw any of that around Sabreland! I trust he knew DK wanted far too much money and cut him free even though we all. including GMKA I am sure, wanted him back. Been a while since I trusted a GM as well. Good stuff Mr. Adams

I heard the show. It wasnt because they want to convert him to winger but to give him minutes in a more sheltered position for a short time until he is comfortable.

I would think by game 30 or 40 he would start getting time at center

agreed...even start letting him take faceoffs in offensive zone. should not take long for him to adjust and in the meantime he won;t have that immediate pressure that he'd feel if at center. Heck he can play with Staal and Skinner on 2nd line and watch and learn from Eric which would work well

Anyone else just forget Mittlestadt exists? I've basically just written him off lol

yeah it is kinda sad that someone who was so highly thought of just a few year sago seem sto have dropped competely off the radar...we could really use him to develop into even a good solid 3rd lien center with little pressure or expectation...he must still be quite young

Shows they wanted a big winger and not a small center

Do you we know the size of both these guys? I do think it is very important that we do indeed look for guys with size as Tampa Bay showed they play very agressive and play "big" which is something we have not done for many years
