yep, same thing was said of the Bills and I don't think thats a problem at the moment. Get a competent coaching staff, fix the holes in the roster, may have to go the trade route...wait they NEED to go the trade route to start. Start winning and the perception quickly changes. A year ago I was teasing my friends who cheer for the Canucks and thanking them for becoming the clown franchise of the league, taking over from the Sabres at long last... Hire Rick Tocchet in Jan 2023, a few good decisions on building the roster and now look. Since hiring Toccet. they signed Ian Cole, Teddy Blueger, Carson Soucy All via UFA market Traded for Sam Lafferty in Oct for 5th round pick Traded for Nikita Zadorov Side note - Im old enough to remember people laughing at the notion of brining back Tyler Myers last year when the Canucks wanted to dump him.I also remember the reacton when I suggested Zadorov as an option on the bottom pair.... and there they are Myers TOI is 20mins per game and Big Z is plays 18 to 20 mins. for the team we could only dream about becoming. Thats all theyve done. They did not blow it up They hired a coach who knows what he is doing They literally brought in footsoldiers in Lafferty and Blueger Made 1 splash with Soucy and then added 2 serviceable Dmen in Zadorov and Cole. Crazy to think how poor Adams did this past off-season

I'd still like them to keep Mitts. Only way I'd like to see him traded is if he is a piece that brings in a top pair RHD. however, he needs to be scratched tonight. 2 games in a row his carelessness with the puck directly led to the opponents first goal

Change the coach first. Then let's discuss. I'm still of the belief their top 9 forwards are set and good enough to get them to the playoffs as they mature and have a competent coach to guide them I am i. total agreement with you that someone needs to grow a set and make tough decisions. I get that but how much is Granato earning? I'm guessing it's well below avg coaches salaries Think compared to other teams, firing Granato should come cheap
-
Yep. If you bring in Brind'amour , or someone else who has a history of hard working teams and you still can't get results, then you turn to the players Would be crazy not to try a change in coaching first can anyone provide a coaching staff with less experience than the Sabres? They are in way over their head, completely outmatched and if you saw the in-period interview of granato, they are a staff who are completely out of answers. At this point the Sabres would be doing Granato a service by firing him

Adams had a failing off season his UFA signings have been meh at best he didn't bring in a vet goalie and he didn't go out and try replace Quinn I think the funniest one at this point is not retaining Peca and keeping Ellis we can't win faceoffs..... Mike Peca turbo charging the Rangers specialty teams you can only laugh at this point

I can get the sentiment to blow it up but I'm of the steadfast belief that that the right coaching staff can turn this ship quickly. Where would they be now if they had an average PP? With the skill they have on the roster , no way heads shouldn't role for their ineptitude I think the top 9 is pretty well set. Of course a return on Tage and Tuch to their former self's would be instrumental in righting the ship you've got pieces on defence If they can bring in a top pair RHD that would cure a lot of their ills If there is one team in the league that has the assets to bring in such a player it's Buffalo The problem is there aren't many of those types of players in the league and teams don't trade them away often the bottom line needs footsoldiers I don't mind Krebs but they need energy , hair on fire type of guys Hopefully they can acquire a few via free agency and trade goalies seem to be fine UPL has answered a lot of the questions about him and Levi (it sent to Roch) should be a decent tandem next year it's definitely not a blow it up situation it's find a competent coaching staff , a top 4 dman and footsoldiers

They are a reflection of their coach. Super nice guy, calm demeanour, just go out and play carefree he likes to say "play without fear" which they do. They play with out fear of any repercussions from continuing to be lackadaisical with the puck. Think a lot of posters were smart and went to bed. think I'm going to do the same. This team just isn't worth being tired for hope to see a win when I look in the morning. Prepared to see a 3-1 loss and I'll just laugh
-
Yep this is the guy they need. I mean I'm not passing up Celebrini if they win the lottery
-
I really hope you are wrong. I really hope one of my favorite teams (Bills or Sabres) start to show a sense of urgency and start making bold moves. I feel the Bills have at least tried on the player personal side ....while the Sabres have shown zero urgency to do anything.
-
this sounds great in theory but there is a significant downside. Usually a power forward doesnt hit their stride until 23 / 24 years of age....they just can't wait that long. This teams needs a legit top 4 RHD and they need to trade this pick, along with a prospect in a package that will bring in this player.
-
Unless you win the lottery, is there anyone who wants to see them make the pick? A trade for help in 24/25 just has to happen. would have hoped Adams moved on it a month ago , but he didnt and now its best to wait till the offseason to trade it BUT it must be done!

Who would have guessed that the team is failing UPL not UPL failing the team?
-
He was coach of the year in 2011 and then took a team with Kap as his qb to the Super Bowl in 2013. how is that not better than what McDermott has done in his 7 seasons with the Bills?
-
We can only hope at this point !
-
He had Josh Allen and he chose to put the ball into Hamlin's hands?? You mean the college coach who just won a national championship? The one who won coach of the year in the NFL in 2011 and took the 49ers with Kap to the Super Bowl? Pretty sure that would be considered an upgrade over McDermott
