I'll die on this hill. Getting rid of Skinner is a net positive for this team in itself he needs to play on a team that is full of vets that already know how to "play the game". He will be fine in that environment. But on the youngest team in the league..... terrible role model for the young players listen to the players exit interviews asking for tougher coaching and holding people accountable, there is no doubt they were talking about Skinner so yes today is a positive for this team

Imagine the leafs trading away Marner and sign skinner , who lights it up all regular season Then comes playoffs and Jeff is never heard from again

Asking and getting are two different things. If he comes into camp and earns the 3rd line centre job ...kudos to him. I think he is really close to being ready but just needs a little more time in the AHL

Since a big move probably isn't coming - one of the prospects will have to play in the top 9 this year who would you guess it will be ? I think Savoie is going to come in and prove he is NHL ready and take the spot Kulich, will go back to Rochester for at least a part of one more season, becoming 3C the following year Rosen will get traded eventually Wahlberg will see some games in Buffalo he will come up and make it difficult for him to be sent back down

Getting a top 6 forward to replace Skinner would be objective #1. if, by miracle, they do sign someone, they buy out Skinner and use that money to pay a 3rd line centre and another 4th line energy guy I think the D they have is the D they go with hopefully there is such an improvement in coaching and UPL and Levi can give them good goaltending over an entire season, they have a change to contend for a playoff spot. that's the dream. most likely , the sign a couple of more 4th types (much needed btw) and Jeff Skinner remains a Sabre and continues to frustrate coach and fans alike with his lackadaisical play and poor passing But hey. When it's a blow out and the opponent decides they don't want to play D that night , he might score a goal or two

90% yes this is it for him I guess I'm believing he wants to make trades but no player is willing to come so he is handcuffed. Yes that's partly on him but not sure a new GM changes that aspect

What the GM did was hire a real coach. Lucked into having a vezina level goalie and got rid of PLD. but I do agree he has done a better job than Adams hopefully Adams now has a real coach and Vezina level goaltending.

The Jets are well coached team with great structure but we all saw them exposed vs a talented team like Colorado. I'll give you that the The GM did great to get rid of PLD and get some of their core pieces signed but what trade was he able to accomplish brining in a vet player for draft picks or prospects? hopefully Buffalo is in playoff contention next year and they too trade away their first round pick for a rental. I dare to dream honestly, we have to hope that coaching and goaltending lift the existing roster cause I don't see a trade happening and I doubt they accomplish much in the UFA market.

Sure but when you look at the jets roster who was brought in via trade? Besides the eichel type trade they got from the LAK? The biggest differentiator between the 2 clubs is coaching and goaltending.

We might as well all come to the realization that bonafide NHL players don't want to come to Buffalo and that the only chance we have to be good is to draft and develop it sucks but the list of NHL players getting traded today and none coming to Buffalo has me at this point. Hopefully I'm wrong and they can land a couple of UFA's that move the needle but gonna guess they will sign players without any other options to try plug the holes on this team. --- as I type this the commentators on Sportsnet are "wow is there some kind of action happening today" and here we are off on the sidelines Keep going ... what happened after the 81 point season? Not a chance. I think KA is in a tough spot, had a much tougher gig than Briere in Philly for example. sure he wants to make a deal but players don't want to come to Buffalo. we suck!!!

you can not have Skinner play "down the lineup" they did that last season and we saw the result. He brought zero offence, zero defence and was completely frustrating to watch. in the press box sure but that's a lot of money to sit idle

Feels like a lot of fans dont care if the player is worth the 11th pick before the trade actually happens Wild guess that a lot of the "better trade the pick" people will also be the ones most vocal about how KA got fleeced if a trade happens

Will you be happy if they trade the 11th for a decent 4th line player?
