Kisakov over Poltapov? Throw the list out, it's worthless seems like the ranked all players on the Sabres roster, then the AHL roster, then the others. In my mind Poltapov is in the group with Östlund, Helenius Walhberg and Rosen Johnson should be below the 5 listed above

Watching this game and seeing this chant for JJP kinda pisses me off why can't the Sabres organization attempt to create the type of atmosphere in their arena? Hire someone to lead a stand up and chant section. Then sell tickets in one of the corners as A "stand and chant" section. let people bring in flags, and have someone with a drum. Would you buy tickets in the section knowing you were expected to stand and chant the entire game?

What happens if he blows the doors off at camp? If you really want to bring the best out of players, you have to have competition. I think he has a really good chance to start the season with Sabres -

Could have been him trying to do too much to get ice time. It has to be tough to be 3 or 4 years younger than every other forward on your team , getting 6 mins one night , 13 minutes the next plus I would think he may not have been strong enough to play a heavy game of hockey vs men. but now he is 21 and things seem to be coming together for him. However, he did start last season well before he hit a scoring slump. The most important thing for him is that it is great that he is scoring but that's not how he will be a difference maker for the Sabres. He needs to keep up being a $hit disturber, Heavy forecheck, creating turnovers and opening up space for his linemates. it will be fun tracking his progress this year. over the years I would say he is in my top 3 favourite prospects. One seems to have hit in JJP, the other missed very badly in Justin Bailey - so we will see. -

Time to bring this thread back to the forefront. Poltapov continues his torrid scoring streak with another 1G and 3A in todays game for CSKA thats 3 games in the KHL and 7 points I just want to re-iterate that the points are great but it's the work rate, the strength on the pick and the physical play that separates him from a lot of the other Sabres Young Guns I've said it for years and continue to believe that Poltapov will be a difference maker for the Sabres sooner than later -
Based off of viewings or box score ? i respectively disagree that he was bad. He plays a style for that would be difficult for any teenager to be successful vs men. Plus, he had very limited minutes so far if he had played with the London Knights and not SKA for the last 2 seasons, he would be ranked much much higher. I think he is a top 5 prospect and will be a key member of the Sabres in 2 or 3 years.

2 primary assists today. Watch, he will start zooming up prospects lists now from those that just look at stats. 🤣.aka Sabres Twitter. When it comes to Sabres prospects, Baker is really the only one I listen to because I trust he is watching the games If anyone is interested, the KHL has an app and you can pay $2 to watch the games live.

He is 21 on one of the best teams in the KHL. If you look at their opening day lineup today, there is no other forward who is under 24. Don't confuse the KHL with AHL, KHL is not a developmental league. Teams are there to win now, so he's played limited minutes down the lineup so far in his career Not that this matters long term either but he just had a SH goal in his fist game of 24/25. Had a productive preseason as well

One thing I can't stand is people looking at stats and making a judgement on Poltapov. The man is a beast and brings everything to the game that the Sabres need Please don't take my word for it, but how about Kris Baker who watches almost every game he's played? If you follow or listen to Kris, you will know how he feels about Poltapov

Do you have a Gretzky rookie?? I have one , should get it graded. Assuming it's a pretty low rating but still would be nice to know what it's worth always pains to think how many I had back then, some where probably traded away, lost in wall card battles or used in the spokes of my bike!

I collected mid 70s to early 80s and then again for a couple of years in the 90s along with everyone else 2 years ago I decided to start collecting from my year of birth (1969) to current. Luckily my birth year coincides with the Sabres existing. this last year I collected 73/74, 83/84, 2013/14 and 2023/24 O-pee-chee for the older and upper deck for the newer. I collect the base sets plus all the young guns ....expensive this year due to the Bedard card. Completed all except for a couple of young guns in the extended set.
