If the salary cap goes up and the Sabres have to hit the cap floor, no ceiling, that means they will have to spend about $15 million beyond what they have on the roster. take away any dead contracts, I can see Murray signing several mid level free agents that fill particular rolls on the team. I don't see any snipers in this group but they need a veteran presence in the locker room and we know several Vets will be released in the off season. I am taking a wait and see approach. I can not go through another dead season. I am not a Cubs fan. I don't want to be eliminated from the playoffs before the season begins.

DR was not serious about building a contender. Telling the guys to step up their game is one thing. They were short 2 or 3 solid vets to be a competitive threat in the playoffs. Vanek was not whining but being honest.
