I can see them wanting to move him before he causes more disruption.. But I do not believe this conversation took place in this way.
Why buyout or release Kane. He will be great Vegas Bait next year. Unless we can get a worthwhile ROI his value is better here.
Now if there is something we haven't heard regarding the off ice situation(s) well that can change a lot of stuff, but from best I can tell Kane was not at fault.. but info is lacking so that is just a guess
and I am still glad we got rid of that POS. God meshawn was and still is a douche bag
You're right about Lynch, he was and still is a POS. Between his hit & run, smoking pot in an unlicensed vehicle, stealing 20's at the McKinely Mall and being a complete A-hole at the apartment complex that he lived at, he was a huge douche!

The Bills did this with Marshawn Lynch after he got in trouble a couple of times and got suspended.

SOURCES: Maple Leafs met with Steven Stamkos at MLSE headquarters Tuesday. Also present: Toronto Mayor John Tory and CEO of Canadian Tire.

Jim Fink is a business reporter, but still, I suppose he knows people who know people...
A growing buzz in some NHL circles that high profile FAs (Babcock last year) and Stamkos are using Sabres as a 'leverage' for better deals
Even Paul Hamilton mentioned that fact on WGR550 this morning. While it's a smart business move by the individual, it sucks that the Sabres are the one's being used.

Johnson is working himself into being trade bait at the deadline. If Lehner can get himself up to speed before the deadline, Murray may be able to put Johnson into a package and get a decent pick or prospect back.
Heh heh, he said "Johnson" and "package" in the same sentence.
Makes sense. Murray did that with Enroth and Neuvirth last year.
Settle down Beavis!
-
Speaking of goalies, how much longer is Johnson under contract for? I think Murray should resign him in case Lehner doesn't pan out.
-
I understand Murray's reasoning as he didn't see this as a "five year rebuild," so he has a plan to get younger NHL players to speed up the rebuild process. I'm just concerned that he could have stripped the "cupboard bare" so to speak by trying to speed up the rebuild process. I hope that is not the case here.

Thanks, I appreciate that. I post on TwoBillsDrive and moderators close threads over there even if the topic was discuss months ago or in part of another thread.Don't ever apologize for starting a thread, it's something we desperately need around here.
That said, no, I don't believe so. And it's for the simple reason that he traded away hope for proven talent. We have enough hope in our 4 rookies, we need some actual players to compliment them
It's weird seeing Connolly talk to Connolly

Last year, Tim Murray made a lot of bold moves both during the season and after the season. While the Sabres got good players in return such as O'Reilly, Kane, Bogosian (still too early to tell on Lehner), Murray gave up a lot of prospects and drafts in return. Would it have been better to have kept all of those players and waited for their development? I know it's too early to tell if these moves are going to workout or not, but it seems Murray gave up a lot of assets for the players he got in return.
If this has been brought up before, I apologize in advance.

Brandon has done a great job of marketing the Bills as well as the business side of the team, but he was terrible when it came to hiring coaches, management, and players. Just as long as Brandon stays on the marketing/business side, then things will be good.

At least Patty was smart enough to get in a cab.
And then beat up the driver...
I hear ya though, his first choice was a good one, but not the second one.
-
He's young and dumb and will learn from his mistakes, much like Patrick Kane did from his taxi cab incident.

Is McGinn any good?

On last RT, compensation issue, at least temporarily, may be gumming up works on Bylsma/BUF. Rule is rule but there are often complications.

Mike Schopp @Schopptalk now
Do Terry and Kim think they got screwed? Not outbid -- screwed. That is my question.
Good question. Sounds like Bab "the Co-ck" used Buffalo to get more money out of Toronto.
-
Babs will get 8 years $50M from Toronto. If that's the case, why didn't he sign with Buffalo?

It's the Leafs!!

Is Bylsma the new favorite?

Source say Mike Babcock has decided to leave the Detroit Red Wings. #TSN

Sources in BUF say they are OUT on Mike Babcock. Not going to BUF.
-
Toronto is pissed that they couldn't buy the Bills and bring them to Toronto, so now they're trying to steal away the coach we want.
-
Early reports coming out of Toronto are that Babcock is leaning towards taking a short-term deal with Detroit, which IMO would be dumb on his part as it seems there's no long term plan there as the talent is getting past it's prime and they need to reload. What I find interesting is that former Penguins coach, Dan Bylsma, has not signed on anywhere. I wonder if the Pegula's reached out to him, told him their plans with Babcock and if that didn't work out, they would bring him in and give him a hefty raise?
