That was pathetic. Just stupid. Rare dumb moment from McLeod. -

Kesselring is 3 years older with less production. Power has work to do but other than being a right shot, I think these announcers are wrong. At least right now. -
Friend's dog passed away. He was our dogs buddy.

What's the last top 5 pick that was traded? What did it get? It should be ruled out because we won't get a good value in return.

This is what propaganda looks like. Also, it's super cringy all on its own. Reminder, they want to destroy the Department of Education so they can privatize many of its functions and run for profit schools.

Should be fun. -
It's not a strawman, I don't think you can get a good enough return. I certainly dont believe Adams can.

Sabres announce signing Jacob Bryson to one year 900k extension
LGR4GM replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Adams just can't help himself though. He's a big sappy puddle just like Terry where he believes in the room and loyalty to his guys and trust and it's all of us blah blah blah. Dude is basically a mushy dad coaching all his kids. -
I disliked because until you can tell me what that pick is getting traded for and until the draft lottery occurs, the answer is no. Buffalo hasn't drafted a top 5 forward since Eichel.

and under Granato we were 1 point away from the playoffs. Great, Ruff had one good year with the Devils, fantastic.

Quick note, Barkov had 26 and 36pts in his first 2 NHL years and he came out of Liiga. He is younger compared to Benson with a Sept 2 b-day but still, just interesting. I am well aware they play different positions and one is 6'3" so please again, don't take this as a 1 to 1 comparison.

Yuppp. I keep trying to remind everyone, often, that Benson has barely scratched the surface of all that he will bring. Kid won't be 20 until the season ends. Won't be 21 until next season ends. Once that brain of his hits full maturity (around 25) if the skills continue to grow too, there's a really special player there. He's already starting to generate bottom end Selke level defensive metrics. Idk when a winger last won a Selke without looking but I don't bring up that trophy lightly. I only hope he progresses as he has this season. Edit: Please note I am not guaranteeing that Benson wins a Selke or even that he will be in that convo or that good. He just has some tracking numbers that are similar to guys like Barkov.

Hmm, yea somewhat. We've seen Martone push up ice but my issue is he doesn't demand the puck. He's got underrated playmaking though, I will say that. Idk, I trend towards high motor guys with some skills as opposed to big guys with some skills. It is how I end up liking Jarvis or Benson over players like Martone. Not to say Martone can't be or won't be better than them long term. Martone's projection comes down to consistency. If he can consistently attack up ice, use his playmaking to bait defenders while using his shot to keep goalies honest, you have a top line forward. You have better Tuch, maybe a lot better. He does play physical and he does go to the dirty areas. There's a lot to love in his game so please don't think I dont like him. His skating needs some better agility and he needs to be a bit quicker with his shot. That said, he sees the ice well, he has no issues with physical play (I think some have overblown this as he is Tkachuk like but he's not). I really like how he supports plays and can run a line at times from the wing spot. Considering Luke Misa is pretty fast, Martone does well keeping up... although, I think Martone prefers others to carry the puck in. Anyways... OHL just dropped highlights for him yesterday. My advice for watching these is see what happens before a goal is scored, what does Martone do, where does he go, how does he either pass or shoot. The end thing is nice but the why it occurs is the important part. Quick note, when you hear "Misa" that is Michael's brother Luke, a 5th round pick of the Flames last year. oh yea... Leenders is the opposing goalie but don't think to harshly of him from just 1 game of highlights.

2027 is the most likely. He'll need some time to really understand the NA game and get up to speed. Good news is that he's so young, waiting another 2-4 years doesn't matter much as long as he grows into a good player.

The Sabres Lead the League in Penalty Minutes
LGR4GM replied to Porous Five Hole's topic in The Aud Club
My thoughts are that it just shows how penalties don't correlate to winning very well. They probably correlate better to losing but I haven't looked anything up, just a hypothesis. -
McQueen is the biggest ??? He's only got 3 games left, not sure what his team is in the standings. He's got 1g, 6a in the last 5 games. Or 1g, 5a in his last 3 if you really wanna know. He's 6'5" and uses his body well. The question is, how good is a guy who lost most of the season to a bulging disc in his lower back? Is he capable of growth still? What's his floor?

I think Desnoyers applies his physicality more steadily. He's consistent and detailed. Here's my big concern with Martone, pace. He has that Vanek habit of waiting for plays to come to him and waiting for moments. He doesn't always demand moments. Good strategists seize opportunities, great strategists make their own. I worry that he's more of a complimentary top 6 winger at the next level. Especially when his physical advantages no longer apply. I'm not saying I wouldn't draft him, just that I'd think long and hard.

Hagens has had issues getting inside at the ncaa level which is causing alarm in the scouting community.

Here is a good story about this happening: She was a Canadian Citizen, here legally with no criminal record. She was held for 2 weeks in appalling conditions. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/mar/19/canadian-detained-us-immigration-jasmine-mooney "The reality became clear: Ice detention isn’t just a bureaucratic nightmare. It’s a business. These facilities are privately owned and run for profit. Companies like CoreCivic and GEO Group receive government funding based on the number of people they detain, which is why they lobby for stricter immigration policies. It’s a lucrative business: CoreCivic made over $560m from Ice contracts in a single year. In 2024, GEO Group made more than $763m from Ice contracts. The more detainees, the more money they make. It stands to reason that these companies have no incentive to release people quickly. What I had experienced was finally starting to make sense."

What if 1 of those ppl deported wasn't a terrorist? Also because there was no court hearing, Trump offered no proof they were terrorists that I am currently aware of. Just his word. That's why there is a deportation hearing. Again, those ppl would have been remanded in ICE Custody until the court process played out. They would not have just come back and gone back into the world. That's not what this was. It was return until the court process plays out.

Trump has appealed and the judges order did not order the release of the gang members according to what I am reading. They were to be remanded in custody until a briefing was filed about this. It was a temporary restraining order for 14 days to allow the court process to play out. The District Court who oversees the lower court, had asked for motions to be filed by Tuesday at 5pm. I don't see a judge that loves terrorists, just that using the AEA in this case is questionable considering what it was written for and how it is being deployed. We can still apprehend terrorists and hold them for deportation. There is no reason to even have this debate, you just appeal the TRO, file your brief, let the District Court rule and probably it ends there. Maybe someone fights it to the Supreme Court since the AEA is a very old law not used since WWII. https://abcnews.go.com/US/trump-admin-ignores-judges-order-bring-deportation-planes/story?id=119857181

Why should the judge be impeached? Why is impeachment the correct route here instead of appeal? Trump is free to appeal the ruling to a higher court, but he isn't calling for that. He wants this judge removed and worked up his base, see yourself, for this. Once Trump can remove 1 judge for disagreeing with him, he can remove any judge. You're essentially arguing that if you think a judge makes a poor judgement they can be removed. Okay, I think Citizens United was an awful judgement, all the judges who ruled in favor must be impeached and removed. I think Aileen Cannon is one of the worst judges in the history of the country, she makes lots of poor decisions and was routinely slapped down by the District Court, removed. Poor judgement right? Again, you want to open pandora's box and Trump has convinced beyond a doubt the only way to be safe is his way with his judgement. That's how Fascism works. Hitler was about how he was the only one who could save Germany or get anything, you had to believe in him. Churchill was about how only the people could save themselves if they banded together, they had to believe in themselves. Subtle difference.
