  1. You're missing a key element. Does Casey Mittelstadt on the Sabres make them better? I'd argue no. So yes we can be mad that Mitts wasn't traded for something we need, but if Byram gets us that, that's good.
  2. They won't. And Buffalo still won the trade. Byram is worth more than 3/4 of Charlie Coyle with a prospect and a 2nd adding up to the other 1/4.
  3. This is Caleb Desnoyers who most consider an excellent 2way forward that will probably go in the 3-6 range: this is Carter Bear who almost no one even talks about as a top 10 pick... because ppl don't evaluate players like Bear correctly:
  4. Adams won the Mitts trade. Mittelstadt is worth less than Byram as we sit here today. It's like winning the Jokiharju for Nylander trade, sure Joker wasn't great but he was better than Nylander. Byram's gonna give us more when traded than Mitts have Colorado.
  5. This kids is why you draft Carter Bear. Also Zach Benson hasn't even played his 20yr old season yet. Those defensive metrics are insane.
  6. So... Florida is a wagon.
  7. Ever since the Eichel stuff, I've found the Rangers to be annoying. I also think Drury is a gm you can outmatch.
  8. Smith has sublime skating. He has decision making issues but he's got good size and plays physical. He works hard all over the ice and I don't think his offensive game has even scratched the surface. Outside of needing to refine his overall game, there's a ton to like in his package. At 6'4" 199lbs, there's a potential top pairing defender there.
  9. Osburn is underrated. As long as Buffalo keeps their 2nd and 3rd, they'll have a bunch of lhd options.
  10. I think 1st round picks won't have a ton of value in this draft for trades. There's too many available and I think this draft is viewed as just okay.
  11. We haven't won a playoff series since 2007. So yes, it's not gotten us much.
  12. But all the futures they traded to win. Versus all the 1st rounders Adams has used to get Buffalo to... no where.
  13. There's multiple reports he had to approve of Jokiharju for a 4th trade. Pegula is not involved enough to know hockey but still thinks he should chime in on a trade of a 3rd pairing defender.
  14. Vegas didn't.
  15. Needed a new umbrella base, old one was just getting kinda gross and we got a bigger umbrella. I wanted something heavier cuz it is windy. Both lowes and home depot succcccckkkkk. They have a crappy and limited in store selection. The only one weighted enough was absurdly priced. Finally the employee help... I get it you have a smart phone but I can look it up on my phone, so no you doing it isn't helpful. Instead of going and leaving with a stand I got the pleasure of ordering it and now I get to wait 3-5 days which is a weak complaint but you're a giant box store and you only have 3 models, in the entire place, everything else is online? So annoying.
  16. Pulling off 6 trades in one offseason seems unlikely. At least in that Chicago trade we get a Defense back. No idea of Murphy is good or not, didn't watch Chicago at all.
  17. Who's we? I've been exceedingly clear I wouldn't trade Peterka for anything short of Jason Robertson.
  18. Thank god Finally don't need 19 and 20yr olds in the lineup.
  19. You want Casey Mittelstadt on this team?
  20. None of those options. I think all coaches stay and they make a few minor defensive tweaks to the roster.
  21. Slow the F down. Helenius is in the AHL and is 18 (19 now) versus Peterka who's 23 and in the NHL. When Helenius gets to the NHL, you might be able to say this bolded. Suggesting that we have some mythical young piece coming that will be a 30g 60pt player while they're 4 more years out is how you end up in a perpetual rebuild. Yes I see the trade Peterka for Robertson part but we cant count on Helenius for anything yet.
  22. Dahlin is the best defender in his own zone on the team. You can partner him with anyone competent.
  23. Adams is a terrible poker player.
  24. Adams lacks 2 things. He's not smart enough to make moves 3 or 4 ahead. So he's a poor planner. And the 2nd thing he lacks ruthlessness and needs ppl to like him and he needs to like ppl. He doesn't understand the fundamental underlying truth, all pro sports are a 0 sum ruthless game. So he keeps players he likes personally in some loyal belief they'll work out and he makes moves without thinking how it will impact the next move and the next move and the next move.
