  1. Studies in this type of field are so difficult to digest.

Oh hey, men who made millions of dollars commited less suicide than those that were poor.

There are just so many factors.

We know CTE is bad, and it exists, professional sports players are going to be at higher risk, it is somewhat part of the job and reason they are paid handsomely.

That's not to say we shouldn't try and prevent what we can, we absolutley should.

Anyway RIP Chris, I always remember the Caps with you and Peter Bondra always beating the Sabres as a kiddo.

It has zero to do with having the right to be angry about the team missing the playoffs again...Again, you just dont get it, do you even read anything I post.

I'm complaning about people taking shots at posts that I (and others) have simply becuase we say something good about the team. We get 'eyeroll' emojis and smart comments made to us because we aren't on the 'everything is bad, blow everything up' train.

The "book" I wrote was intened exactly for people like you, the ones who haven't read many of our other posts or simply do not have the ability to 'read between the lines' so I thought I would spell it out. Guess that doesn't even work.

I think I'm jealous that I can't get excited like I want to. I'm not seeing the progress necessarily and then when they start playing better, I just assume they'll start the next season the same exact way.

This city would light up like a Moonless Scandanvaian summer if the sabres spring to greatness again. But I don't know how many more years we have before we lose and entire generation and subsequent frenzy like we used to.

I freaking hope at some point we turn this around (the bills went 17 years and now look at them) but this is hockey and not as popular as football.

  3. We have all been here suffering. Hell, I forget how many years I've been here now, but I think we were in the playoffs when I stared lurking or posting..

    We don't have a 1st year GM, he's going on, what, 5.

So yes, let the negativity flow, we've earned our right to be skeptical, negative or pissy.

I specifically did not mention which side of the debate I would be on, nor will I do so now. I shall not take your bait, however masterful it may be. Good day to you, sir. Good. Day.

To be fair... I honestly have no clue what the rumors or speculation are about him. I'm fairly hermit like when it comes to a lot of these things. SS is basically my only social media aside from tidbits I hear from nurses at work 😂

    Life is better this way

    As for the game...

We can’t just sit around and attempt to age out. We would be trying to make up too much of a gap in an area where only so much can be gained. Other teams have young players too, we are only benefiting development wise by being 0.25 years younger to a very small degree

And there’s a draft every year and everyone gets 7 free picks.

    31st, 24th, 20th, 24th

it doesn’t work, you need to configure an actual team

I've gotten zero confidence that this FO thinks this way, they've made mention about internal growth. Maybe it's a smokescreen and they have other plans, but based on track record... The suffering appears to be on a continuim

  6. Levi did good. He's still very raw, still scramb-ly and his rebound control is unrefined.

You can see the quickness he posses, his glove hand is quick.

That first goal was poor, his scrambling nature pulled his leg away from the post. He's gonna have to clean those things up if he's going to progress to the next level.

That being said, if Comrie is in net, we lose 6-1

Yeah, I know that is the prevailing opinion around here, I just don't agree.  I don't care if no other team would agree with it, if I think things are going in the correct direction I don't give a you-know-what about what other teams would do.

As far as staying the course being acceptance of failure? Yeah, sounds good, but guess what, with the youngest team, staying the course almost LITERALLY means the team is getting better with age and experience.

Yeah.. Just like last year, we were supposed to grow and be better this year. Growing older doesn't mean better. If that's the train of thought, then we're already F'd

Funny you mentioned sauna, I am actually right now planning a new sauna for our summerhouse. Summer, sauna and swimming in the lake, it does not get much better than that.

I forgive you for being unfaithful, a lot of Finnish products and brands are manufactured elsewhere also. I hope you get a good sauna and nice sauna-moments!

Thanks, I'll upload pics when it's done. I'm making it 9ft by 8ft and taking a spare bedroom and making that a spa room. I'm going to build a cold plunge with a chiller too. I'm also installing led fibre optic star lighting in the ceiling to make it unique.

Not the same as lake swinging, that sounds fantastic! I did go to sauna in Finland once near the Baltic, there were 3 smaller houses on the outskirts of Helsinki that you just could come out and take the ladder down into the sea.

Presale for Devils game started today. Very few tickets left. At £250ish per ticket to seat my family next to one another……. I’m out.

That's a lot of cash to pay for trash.

I though it was cool going to stockholm to see them play, but the games were the worst part of the trip (cool arena though)

Would be nice if we had a fun team for all those cool event games.

I found the Flyers response tonight and their excellent effort against the Leafs to be an interesting point of contrast. Torts causes a stir benching the captain and yet the team rises and plays better. Full accountability.

Now would Granato have the balls to sit Skinner in the press box?

    No,

The only balls Donny has is to get butthurt when the fans chant and then to double speak at the podium.

He's not as bad as Ralph K, but he is trending that way rapidly.

A development coach, that has lost the ability to develop.
