A partial bet is anything short of a full unit. If the Sabres are -163 than betting three units would be $489 and four units would be $652. 5.5 is well below Lindholm's value. If he signed that, it's not Risto's problem. Risto shouldn't be expected to sign a below value contract just because Lindholm was stupid enough to. Plus, the Sabres need Risto way more than the Ducks need Lindholm. With Risto the Sabres have a shot at making the playoffs, they have absolutely no shot at the playoffs without him. Risto DOES have leverage.

Honestly I have no idea what he thinks he's worth. I think he's worth 6.5 x 8. Hell, I think that will turn out to be a bargain.

I think many (most?) people are ignorant on the difference between SiPR and NiPR. I think they look at is Clinton just took some work home. To put it in hockey terms they equate it to something like O'reilly being moved to third line center. They might not like it, but it's not really a big deal.
