  1. Ye I know, I took a risk with that association. As you mentioned I was going for the attitude angle, not views. :)
  2. While I understand your want of a link Chz is generally trustworthy with this stuff.
  3. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=401559 Tim Thomas proves that there's always at least one Sean Avery in the league. EDIT: I seriously dislike Tim Thomas. I hope he gets shipped to some backwater during the season, or retires. League would be a better place without him.
  4. Not really, you summed it up pretty well. I was agreeing with you. ;)
  5. This point bugs me. While the UK are good at it so I shouldn't complain it really bugs me.
  6. But there's normally a great team or 2 who you don't expect to tank and do. I still think we'll all be wrong.
  7. Thats a lot, but could be a really smart move. I like it I have to say.
  8. He has Parise in Minnesota and I doubt they'd ditch him after one season, his still a big name despite the bad year last year. NOTE: I'm really NOT comparing Crosby or Malkin to Parise.
  9. Mostly there is a great buzz, a far happier and more positive attitude that us Brits are used to. Despite some bitching and moaning most people seem to really have an air of excitement and optimism. Of note, I'm about 75 miles out but my grandparents live in South London
  10. That person should be singled out and have their own gold medal. Most people over here find it funny, only poncy journo's seem to think it's the worst think since the blitz.
  11. 2013, after the lockout.
  12. While I completely agree I'd write off big markets. A dude who's spent his life with a luckless franchise isn't going to want to be under the pressure of the NYR or PHI crowds, imho. Did he play with Numminen? Thats not an angle I just can't be bothered to do the research.
  13. Minnesota would want offense in return, making any deal a little void. I reckon they give him another year, maybe his value improves. Depending on Parise and Suter, of course. Like Nash, he doesn't have a huge amount to work with in Min. Plus Heatley is a proper diva, the last person you'd want a NMC with (just ask Atlanta and Ottawa, lol).
  14. See: Brazil, Italy, Spain. :) That Many! :o
  15. Heatley is part of the Wild plans, thats a dud rumor. It would also be silly for the Pens to do anything other than maybe a decent shutdown defender. Their offense is deadly enough so I'm sure this is 'I'm bored in the offseason' talk.
  16. Anyone see the slight Korean mistake? Absolutely hilarious. Still, Team GB FTW! I'm no patriot but I hope the Brits do us proud. This statement is wrong on a stunning level. Actually in certain countries womens soccer is bigger than the mens. And just because the USA might not focus much media presence on it doesn't mean it's ignored everywhere. Note: There are more countries in the world than the USA.
  17. So anything the americans are the favourites in? :P
  18. NYR worked last year because they were a young, semi-skilled team who may not have had the sheer power of Philly or suchlike but worked as a team, I can't help but feel they might have lost more than people are giving them credit for. Yes but he was the focus of his team, his no longer the centre of attention, just one of many. I see no reason for him to 'explode' based on his previous numbers. Another 30 goal, 60 point season would be good news if I were an NYR fan. Also as TrueBlue said his playing for a different coach in a VERY different city in a different conference. For him to even maintain his production would be impressive based on that. Yes, this says it best. Fun to speculate though :D
  19. Fair point. He had half the hits of Dubinsky. To be fair his not a sniper nor is he strickly speaking a power forward because as you mentioned his game isn't very physical, his an elite goal scorer with size (even if he doesn't use it). Thats how I see it anyway (after reviewing the Nash deal).
