He has been under the umbrella of Ralphs nose for two years. He’s obviously not taken anything from Ralph forward. Rear view mirror. Seems to be doing ok. Certainly development wise.

We can only hope this team develops into that. I have my doubts based on what I see and also apparently on what much of the fanbase wants.

They are also missing some of our best players to injury. Take the players off the Bruins who are comparably important and its a different story imo. I haven’t seen a coach that has had his team ready to play every game like meatballs has in years. And its an enjoyable style of play. Win or lose these kids are making strides.

Sams been good no doubt but that play with Coyle was lazy. Tide turned on that play and frankly I think the Bruins were toying with us up to that point. Boys against men the rest of the way.

I could care less about Hall. I suppose he was just another victim of RK while also being one of his biggest proponents. I doubt he would make that choice again. As Hall relates to the Sabres that relationship was more parasitic than symbiotic.

Well said. I hate this next statement I’m going to make mostly because it implies that things in this moment really suck but here goes. I haven’t been this excited for the future in about a decade. We have some really good pieces at pretty much all positions and the youth movement is going to be fun to watch. Despite the losses I’ve enjoyed the hockey Since RK was let go. Add Eichel , McCabe and a quality goaltender and we be hanging right in there with these teams. Playoffs ? Not sure yet but with a few smart moves the sky’s the limit.

That one worked out but that seems to be the only arrow in their quiver. The one with a few minutes left in the 3rd where we had to score they killed the PP without actually taking any shots.

Our powerplay or more importantly our ability at killing our powerplay was our undoing tonight. That and goaltending. The Sabres are great at throwing the puck to each other around the outside but never actually taking shots. Its maddening. Shoot the friggin puck!

I’d like to see meatballs coach a roster with Eichel, McCabe, and Ulmark plus possibly an off season edition before we bring in a ‘ better ‘ coach.

The Rags are so good at moving the puck around and moving the Sabres around and out of position in the process. This one will be an uphill battle.
