  1. Cool graphics of the American flag on the ice during the anthem. And Frenglish for the Canadian anthem
  2. Shite. I have to listen to that rubbermouth Glen Healy on C.B.C.
  3. I'd rather the team give up 2 points in the short term for longterm gain. This team has made the playoffs twice in 5 years. 2 points don't make a lick of difference compared to the team building that comes with sticking up for your team mate and proving to yourselves and to the rest of the league that you're not a bunch of panty wearing softies. There's no way in hell that Darcy would fire Lindy because he urged his team to stick up for themselves. He's missed the playoffs more than he's made it in the recent past and he wasn't fired for that.
  4. I agree. Last year Hodgsons contributions were negligible as were Kassians in Vancouver. This year both players have made improvements in their games. Lets hope Foligno comes on again. His line showed signs of it last game against the Bruins.

    Tyler Myers

    Oscar ?
  6. Story of the GDT from here on in will be secondary scoring apparently. Until the other lines start chipping it in I'll not feel too confident going into the next game. Balance throughout our lines would be nice but maybe too much to ask for given the lineup. As always GO SABRES!
  7. I hear ya about real team toughness and perceived team toughness. I'm on board with all that as I've said in many posts. Until this team grows a set collectively John Scott can be that set as far as I'm concerned. Changing the culture of this team won't happen overnight with Darcys neglect over the years in the grit and toughness department so Scott imo offers a comfortable stopgap until the changes have been made or the young guys grow into the men they'll become. imo his beatdown of Thornton sent a clear message to not only the Bs but to the league. Of course it had an effect on that game.
  8. Which monster goon do the bruins have in the pipeline ? With the injuries they've apparently suffered they'll most likely call someone up for the next tilt. Why not someone to challenge Scott ?
  9. He's taken a step forward this year in his development for sure. I've been watching a lot of the nucks games just to see how he does and I've been impressed.
  10. After witnessing the Sabres swagger and the Bruins seeming timidness and lack of douchebaggery after the Scott- Thornton fight I respectfully take the above comments back. That fight changed the entire dynamic of that game and that crowd. Did you notice the silence in the Gawden after the beatdown in beantown ? And I have to change my position on Scott being a waste of a roster spot. If having him on the bench can keep the bruins honest ( and other teams that like to intimidate our team ) it'll work wonders for the collective psyche of the sabres. Scott was just as important to the outcome of that game as Vanek was.imo.
  11. Just saw the Scott fight. Nice work against a guy that formerly liked to intimidate our team. Don't think it'll happen much anymore from him. That crowd sure went silent.
  12. That was an entertaining game. These guys proved me wrong on many counts tonight in regards to my comments last night but I'll take it. Couldn't be prouder of the way they handled this game. Thomas Vanek was a beast.
  13. pleasantly surprised they got back in it. A couple fortunate bone headed plays by the Bs but we capitalized on that 5-3. Hold on boys. Lindy will go into alamo mode if historic perspective has anything to say about it. If so this could get ugly for Miller.
  14. Stafford heard footsteps there.
  15. I agree. Make no doubt about it I want him to become a world beater. A game like tonight could be a stepping stone for certain players. I have high hopes for Foligno.
  16. I hear ya. At this point these guys have no choice to at least show up. The spotlight of the hockey world is on this game. I wouldn't want to be that guy that shuffles his feet and looks the other way because its just not in his character to come to the aid of a team mate in this game. In my opinion Regier is the one in the hotseat tonight. As he should be.
  17. Waiting...waiting... He'll have to bring it because really I haven't seen much from him this year. Goal scoring or otherwise. Sure the kids tough but this is a little different than the A.H.L.
  18. Haha. This. The sad thing is this team can't even lose properly.
  19. Not very confident in the teams chances right now. These are two teams heading in opposite directions. As another poster said I'm just hoping for no major injuries and possibly escaping Boston with a point. This morning John Scott probably feels alone on an island because aside from Ott this team is really no different in toughness than last season. Its really quite funny how the coaches and management basically announced to the whole league how this team is tougher this year and won't be pushed around essentially throwing these guys under the bus. 90-95 % 0f these guys will have to play out of character to live up to managements declaration of toughness and grit while the Bruins will just be playing their style.
