  1. Well this is good news. Darcy does have a soft spot for the little guys.
  2. How do you all feel about the job Darcy is doing ? Other than firing the coach has he done anything that appears to have improved the team ? Roster moves ? Is he burning up the phone lines trying to bring in help ? Is he simply waiting for the market to set itself as he likes to say ? Does anyone know of any scouts checking out the team recently ? Is Darcy even alive ? Has anyone seen him ? Maybe we should send someone over to check on him. I jest I jest but seriously.
  3. This makes sense to me.
  4. I commented at the time about all the little players being stuck in their end. It was almost sad really. I felt sorry for the poor little fellas.
  5. On a side note William Moody a.k.a. Paul Bearer dies at 58. R.I.P. Sorry if this has been stated before.
  6. This brought back memories of a job I had right out of highschool where we did the same thing. I seem to remember it helping.
  7. Enroth has a broken heart. Thats why you need Miller and a back-up you trust to go in and spell him. He's had a good game but he's no Miller.
  8. In like Flynn ! Nice work.
  9. Too many little guys stuck in our own end.
  10. Wow. Was that our powerplay ? Nice shot.
  11. And Alvin Lee of 10 years after. R.I.P.
  12. No. Really ? Shite.
  13. But that head injury is fine. Move along. Nothing to see here. Not sure how Shamahan doesn't play into this. Aw forget it. I love a good fight.
  14. That contract is another reason for Tpegs to jettison Regier.
  15. Hands up. Who here thought this team would miraculously turn into a stanley cup contending team if we took the coach out and put a new coach in ? I thought so. No one. Save one or two misguided souls of the sunshine and kitten variety. Then why are we having this argument that it really wasn't the coach ? It makes no sense. We all knew that the roster was bad but we also knew almost to a man that it was time for the coach to go. Lindy Ruff was not going to turn this team around. He wasn't going to get them to dig in and go 100% every game. His systems weren't going to change. His philosophy wasn't going to suddenly reboot. His message was old and the players weren't listening. We could see it in their faces after the losses. We could hear it in their tired responses to the media. The players were lost. So now after we get beat after taking 8 or 9 points out of a possible 10 or 11 ( off the top of my head ) we hear the voices argue that see it wasn't the coach. It was the friggin coach. It was time to go. It is also time for the G.M. to go. The roster has never been good this season. It hasn't been good for a few seasons maybe longer. Take off your sabres goggles and wake up. But it was the right move to change the coach. The coach still had to go.
  16. Every player on this team is the result of Regier. Put lipstick on a pig its still a pig. Oh and I should add- the future has always looked bright with this team. But it never arrives.
  17. That goal was incredible. What an effort Cody !
  18. Kaletas a marked man. Always will be. He's going to take penalties whether warranted or not that will cost us games. Hopefully the ones he draws will negate the ones he takes or there really is little use of having him in the lineup. Good pk guy but aside from blocked shots he certainly doesn't put up points.
  19. Can Gerbe continue his hot streak ? Lets hope so. As always GO SABRES !
  20. There's a reason almost every player in the league considers Kaleta a predator and cheapshot artist. They won't use those names but you get the point. It isn't because Pat is a misunderstood soul. Its because he hits to hurt and rarely backs it up. He's great at drawing the opposition into a penalty which is fine if you're being judged by your own team mates but doesn't go over too well with the other 800 or so players in the N.H.L.P.A. When Matt Cooke played in Vancouver he was the same player he's always been but the play by play , colour guys and his team mates called him affectionately ' cookie monster '. Now the same people in Vancouver have a few choice words for Cooke that won't make it past the censors at sabrespace. And so it goes. Its a love/hate relationship with these type of players that has gone on for close to a century and always with a nudge nudge wink wink between the league and teams involved. Don Cherry can judge Pat Kaleta while at the same time championing violence at every turn on his weekly show and in his rock em sock em video series. A hypocrite if ever there was one. Personally I thought the play was stupid, others will excuse Pat and blame Richards. The debate will go on because the league won't end it with substantial penalties. Next week it'll be someone else and based on the injury received or the past history of the aggressor and or the intent or lack thereof it may or may not be suspendible. Your guess is as good as mine.
  21. Thank you. Its time people learned how to remove their sabres blinders and view a play objectively. It was a stupid move. I'm pretty sure he didn't intend to cause this outcome but he has to think in those situations and thats all the league is asking of its players. Heck they are teaching this at every level of hockey. Kaleta gets 3 or 4 based on reputation.
  22. The Ennis hit is a different hit. He hits the boards chest first. Richards hits head/shoulder first and if you look at his feet/legs whenhe makes contact with the boards it doesn't look like he was embellishing anything. I'm not sure you can fake that. That being said he did get right back out there to play. The hit/push/shove was indefensible though.
