  1. careful man... you wouldn't want to imply that they have a chance to make playoffs or anything. :bag:

Regardless , if they do make the playoffs do they have the type of team to go deep? Have they improved any from last years debacle against Boston? And is just sneaking into the playoffs and getting schooled and out is good enough for you? Whats wrong with shooting for the big prize? Should we not hope that we had a G.M. capable of going out and getting the pieces to actually compete for the cup or are these pieces enough? Just sayin...

  2. You can make roster changes...??!

Sarcasm aside, the simple way of waking up Tommy G - Sit on your wallet, and stop pouring money into this travesty.

Anyone who bought a jersey this year is helping keeping the shipwreck afloat.

Let it sink already and be done with it.

    exactly.

  3. Last year was an anomoly. This is basically the same team that missed the playoffs 2 years in a row. Even when they were winning last season they still didn't look like a team that was going to succeed in the playoffs. Boston exposed them as a team not really different from the previous 2 years.

The past offseason convinced me that we would be watching a team scratch and claw for an 8th place spot. No upgrade on defence. No upgrade in the top 6. A roster of forwards that don't seem to mesh together well enough to create an obvious 4 line combo.

I figure the scratching and clawing will begin in earnest around Jan 1.

Great post. I agree. I'll add to this by saying that this mess falls on Regier. Blaming Quinn for this mess and for the lack of action on Regiers part is like saying Regier sat on his hands till they went numb so that when he pleasured himself it felt enough like Quinn was doing it that he could blame him for the lousy job.Funny thing is that the fans watched Regier do it and they still blame Quinn. Regiers the G.M.

  4. The score was 1 to ZERO! Was that play really the problem? I'm so tired of hearing about Sekera. He is and will be a very good defenseman. And in case you didn't realize it, it was Sidney Crosby that stripped him. As much as I hate him, I have to say that he is the best ###### hockey player there is today.

    Again, we scored 0 goals.

I'm not down on Sekaras playing ability. I've actually liked his play this year. What I was commenting on was that particular play which I'll reiterate by saying it was real weak. There's no denying that. Also,I don't care if its the great one stripping him of the puck. You have to be stronger on the puck than that.

  5. Shall I roll out my fire Regier post now? The flyers who are currently 'mired' near the top of the eastern conference standings continue to make moves to try and improve, the latest of which was just a day or two ago. Whether or not the players they brought in do improve that team now or in the future is anybodies guess but the fact remains that they continually try to get better. What has Regier done for us lately?

  6. If you want to blame anyone, blame Regier. Lalime hasn't been good for a very long time. He probably should have retired years ago. But this team is the one keeping his career afloat. If I was Lalime, I'd be playing the games I get and counting my blessings that a team has a front office dumb enough to keep me around. Hell, OTTAWA didn't want him.

I'm not going to argue with you about that. I've been sayin to fire Regier till I'm blue in the face. Not finding a reliable backup is only one of the reasons.

  7. the sabres effed this one up. they had a bajillion chances and only scored one goal. lalime played good all game this loss was not his fault. he had one mistake big deal. everytime he plays our team plays like poop. his win loss ratio is not a fair judgement of his play.

It certainly wasn't the team that pulled that big blunder to give up that goal. That being said,he did make some nice saves but thats what he's paid to do. Stop the friggin puck. His win loss record is terrible since he's been a Sabre and there's no disputing those numbers. You can blame the team or you can blame him but they are his numbers. When he goes to negotiate a new contract its those numbers that are discussed whether you believe the numbers are his fault or the teams.

  8. This game will be a real test for this sabres squad. Second of back to backs against this lightning team thats been a bit of an offensive juggernaut lately. If the Sabres can beat this team I'll start to believe that they've actually turned the corner. Lets not lose sight of the fact that regardless of their recent turnaround the same deficiencies exist that plagued this team earlier. They never made changes to the roster or coaching staff so am I right to suppose that this success falls on Ruff just as the poor play was blamed by many on Ruff and his coaching style? I guess you have to give credit to the players for buying in and deciding to work for their paychecks also. Go Buffalo!

  9. niedermayer & grier's speed just turned a 2-1 into 2-3...!!! darcy has put together a quality team of "locker room". it'd be nice if he'd give lindy some "ice" guys to put in the lineup...

I have to agree. For all of Griers positive attributes they get cancelled out when I have to watch him try to skate. The guy is skating in slush or appears to be.What a tired skating style.
