Read an article about the Hammer of Philly lore and he said he absolutely hated it. He fought to stay in the game. He also said he'd never once fought off the ice. Not a single street fight. Personally I like it when a fight keeps the cheap shot artists honest but I also acknowledge its going away and probably for the better. I just hope the officials and the league disciplinarian can properly police the cheap shots.

House said he was happy with the effort after the 2nd shutout. Not sure if his spirits were still up after the third but I doubt he chewed anyone a new asss in that room. Just once I'd like to see him do some actual coaching. You know, lean over someones shoulder and get in their ear. Chewing his gum more rigorously is about it. And I like the guy. I'd hate to see anyone lose their job. I really want this to work out for the guy but I have my doubts. If they get shut out a fourth time I'm not liking his odds.

Except today Dave Pratt actually said Quinn Who would or could win two Norris Trophies and help the Canucks win three, count them, three Stanley Cups. This from an eighth round pick. Imagine they had won the draft lottery and picked Dahlin ? Pratt might have actually talked about Dahlin this season. Anyways they have high hopes for young Quinn and no doubt he'll be good but the over the top hyperbole out of Pratt is over the top. Pratt makes talk radio in Van City CRAZY and he gets the locals all riled up. The worst part is that people actually believe him. I know what you're saying Dudacek , the Canucks are like an alternate universe to the Sabres. I hear it every day.

When I hear Coach Housley say he was satisfied with the response from the players in the Dallas game coming off the Colorado game I gagged a little. When I hear Tage parrot basically the same response by saying we got some chances so we're doing all the right things I wanted to start cutting myself. This organization said they wanted to change the culture but they basically rearranged the deck chairs on the Titanic. Pulease get rid of anyone satisfied with following up getting shut out by getting shut out again. Face it we are a league laughing stock. There's no other way to describe what the Pegulas have done to this team. Find some people that know what it takes to win and get them here. Come on already ! Now where did I put those damn bandaids ?

Right now Benning is out GMing Botterail . Without the benefit of a first overall he has quietly built a team that should compete very nicely for years to come. They prolly have more young stars than us without tanking.

I had a faint hope that Dahlin might vie for rookie of the year. Real friggin faint but a hope none the less. Vancouvers youngun has hit a wall so there was a chance if Dahlin started producing. This team is historically bad so that goes out the window.

No one on this team has a killer instinct. Maybe Skinner who's ultra skilled but small. Tonight its more of the same. The coaching staff doesn't seem to have an answer. We'll most likely get shut out again. Its pretty much unwatchable. They've improved on last year but that was a given wasn't it. Meh.

A good clean hit should be celebrated. Unfortunately I think the league would rather that go away too.

You nailed it. They can't play either way. This team is fundamentally flawed. As is their coaching staff in my humble opinion. What exactly is this teams identity ? Phil throws the boys out there and stands back and watches like the rest of us. Never raises his voice. Occasionally seems to get a bit of a red neck. Maybe thats anger or consternation or maybe its constipation ? But if he's coaching this team it seems he's doing the majority of it behind closed doors. In all fairness to him there are coaches in the league that show little to no emotion and are successful but this team obviously isn't. I hope JB stays the course because doing otherwise seems to indicate we'll be starting over again. And if you're not going to be a team that stands up for each other and turns the other cheek then you'd better get more talent on this damn team and do it fast. I have a hard time listening to guys say it has to be one or the other when we are neither. I'd rather have a skilled team that stands together than what we have now.
