Last night had me thinking that the G,M, has given up on the season so why wouldn't the players. Injuries aside they had to find room to play the young guys but I'm pretty sure some of the injured would have played through if we were chasing a spot. I agree on Risto and Bogo. Risto generally makes the other team pay the price while most of our players just don't seem to have that in them .

I was happy with the Phil H hiring but I've subsequently altered my thoughts on that. The decision by a rookie G.M. to hire a rookie head coach who also hires rookie assistants may be one of JBots regrets when he looks back on his moves as G.M. The fact that Phil is a likeable guy and part of the alumni of this franchise kind of handcuffs him slightly. No matter the decision on coaching that is made there'll be people who aren't happy.

How about Vancouver. They rebuilt on the fly sans tank , drafted later than us for the most part every year ( during this 8 year spell ) and look terrific. Watched their game against Dallas last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Ours was a trainwreck. And they have Benning ?

Late to the party but man was that hard to watch. This all feels so familiar.

You've got to be lucky to be good punk. They never were good. They were lucky. Lucky only wins you so many games. We're farther away than that 10 game streak lead us to believe. The proof is in the puddin.

There's plenty of blame to go around with this team. The fans control none of it. The people collecting a pay check do. Lehner shares in the disfunction. He should own it like a real man would. Not to say he's less of a man. We all know how goofy these guys and their confidence can be. He's found it again and he's hanging on to it with all he's got. If that means he has to take this current track to do that so be it. Why let it bother you ? ( sabres fans ) There's really nothing he said thats far from the truth. Its his perspective.

The last 4 minutes of the 3rd is what fans have been waiting to see since the streak. That crowd was pretty loud.

Hockey feed and by extension Sabres feed is talking about Nelson not only being humiliated by the one punch fight but by being tea bagged by the official. LOL The sabres have hit a new low. And evryones laughing at their expense. It is pretty funny though.

This to me sets up as the straw that breaks the camels back. The Blues need the win bad , the Sabres have settled into the same position they have for the past 8 seasons at this time of the year. Playing out the string. I see a 6-1 finish with both goalies being used. Possibly an Eichel tantrum. And quite possibly Skinner making a decision in his mind about what he wants to do going forward. Hate to be so negative but the last 10 games lead me here. PULEASE prove me wrong.

Yeah I haven't seen it in a while but hockey noses are a thing. I see one every time I watch a player interview or look in the mirror,lol. And I'm not what I'd consider a fighter. Mine was mostly from bad luck in the faceoff dot when my opponent tried to lift my stick and ended up smashing my nose instead. A few years ago I was sucker punched and it straightened my nose back out but two black eyes and a very sore forehead were the result.

Yeah I dunno but I think we don't currently have the forward depth to support that system. Not enough skill to compliment the mobile D and what they're trying to accomplish.

Most guys don't like getting punched in the mouth. From my own personal experience getting your nose busted isn't something I'd aspire to. Its hard to measure whether its a deterant because how can you gauge what someone might have done or not done in any given situation ? You see a guy follow a guy into the corner and peel off rather than hit a guy in a vulnerable position. Did he peel off because Lucic is out there or did he peel off because he had some empathy for the other player ? Who knows ?

I think Phil should be trying to win with the talent he has not with the talent he wishes he had. We simply don't have the horses currently to win playing that system ( Nashville ). So you coach to the strengths of your roster and as you add the players you ramp up to the style you'd eventually like to play based on your personal. Doing what we're doing now is a fools game and isn't working. Play to your strengths always.
