This to me sets up as the straw that breaks the camels back. The Blues need the win bad , the Sabres have settled into the same position they have for the past 8 seasons at this time of the year. Playing out the string. I see a 6-1 finish with both goalies being used. Possibly an Eichel tantrum. And quite possibly Skinner making a decision in his mind about what he wants to do going forward. Hate to be so negative but the last 10 games lead me here. PULEASE prove me wrong.

Yeah I haven't seen it in a while but hockey noses are a thing. I see one every time I watch a player interview or look in the mirror,lol. And I'm not what I'd consider a fighter. Mine was mostly from bad luck in the faceoff dot when my opponent tried to lift my stick and ended up smashing my nose instead. A few years ago I was sucker punched and it straightened my nose back out but two black eyes and a very sore forehead were the result.

Yeah I dunno but I think we don't currently have the forward depth to support that system. Not enough skill to compliment the mobile D and what they're trying to accomplish.

Most guys don't like getting punched in the mouth. From my own personal experience getting your nose busted isn't something I'd aspire to. Its hard to measure whether its a deterant because how can you gauge what someone might have done or not done in any given situation ? You see a guy follow a guy into the corner and peel off rather than hit a guy in a vulnerable position. Did he peel off because Lucic is out there or did he peel off because he had some empathy for the other player ? Who knows ?

I think Phil should be trying to win with the talent he has not with the talent he wishes he had. We simply don't have the horses currently to win playing that system ( Nashville ). So you coach to the strengths of your roster and as you add the players you ramp up to the style you'd eventually like to play based on your personal. Doing what we're doing now is a fools game and isn't working. Play to your strengths always.

Read an article about the Hammer of Philly lore and he said he absolutely hated it. He fought to stay in the game. He also said he'd never once fought off the ice. Not a single street fight. Personally I like it when a fight keeps the cheap shot artists honest but I also acknowledge its going away and probably for the better. I just hope the officials and the league disciplinarian can properly police the cheap shots.

House said he was happy with the effort after the 2nd shutout. Not sure if his spirits were still up after the third but I doubt he chewed anyone a new asss in that room. Just once I'd like to see him do some actual coaching. You know, lean over someones shoulder and get in their ear. Chewing his gum more rigorously is about it. And I like the guy. I'd hate to see anyone lose their job. I really want this to work out for the guy but I have my doubts. If they get shut out a fourth time I'm not liking his odds.
