I'm surprised that anybody was surprised PH was relieved of his duties. I did advocate for him before the hiring but it won't be the last time I'm wrong.

I'm surprised that Botterill had the balls to do it. I never thought he would. Since he messed up on the O'Reilly trade and let Lehner go (I give Botts credit, perhaps Lehner wanted to leave, and for good reason). Since he is a "yes" man, perhaps it wasn't his decision. We'll see, the next few weeks should be fun.

Then we'll all have to wait and talk about movies and Games of Thrones, lol.

Since Lindy was fired, we've had 2 experienced coaches and 2 rookies. Since the tank, it's been 1 and 1. It's not like we haven't failed with the experienced route.

The fact was, there were two rookie coaches, and the entire direction has been towards a coach that can teach. Goober Bylsma was hired to teach. Romblimng Rolston was hired to teach, pillow soft Phil was hired to teach......... You don't need a teacher, you need a motivator/cheerleader.

I'd like McClelland, and I'd also take Boogie. I'm sick of rookie coaches and their "teaching".

As are you. You know my first team always will be the Sabres.

Just curious, WildCard.............. why do you laugh?

And here I was worried about wether you’d ruined your pants over the Quenville hire in Florida.  But I guess you’re a Canes fan now.  Do us all a favor and give us a heads up on who it’ll be next year.

I have said, REPEATEDLY the Sabres are #1 team and always will be. Don't go trashing me because of my avatar. I have had 3 home teams and the only reason I have a Canes avatar is it's the only one of my three teams that is actually in the playoffs. You are unfairly treating me.

Does he use lineup match ups?

What is his pattern of using vets versus younger players?

I am genuinely curious because the Panthers did appear to excel under him

I think Boughner and the Panthers were similar to BFLO. (Not Housley). He held ground with his top line and they gelled. The Panthers have always have a couple of vets that were past their prime, but contributed with their leadership. They did well under Boughner (when you take into consideration the washed up goalies they had this year). And they had the 1st or 2nd (I forget) most amount of points in the league last year after the all-star game.

I really do think he'd still have a job if Q-Ville wasn't available. How can you pass that up? Boogie will surface again.

JJ how would you compare Boughner to Gallant?

I think they're similar, but Gallant seems more old school. He let his assistants teach the players and was the hard-nosed coach who stuck up for his team, made sure they were giving 100% and rarely let the officials take advantage of his team. Reason I liked Gallant was he showed his emotions just enough to not be overbearing like Tortorella.

Death, taxes, and JJ hyping something involving the Panthers. You were right on Gallant, I'll give you that, but you've also been wrong on a whole lot of Panthers hype ?

Ever think about the fact that I might actually have some knowledge on Panther's coaches? I'd take Boogie over Housley any day of the week. Two washed up goaltenders killed the Panthers. I think he deserved one more year. But I think the Panthers are bringing in Q-Ville to make the team more attractive to Bob.

Hey everyone! You all stopped talking about me and my trolling so I thought I would bring it up again so we could get back to talking about it again.

    I’m wearing Hurricane jaaaaaammmmmiiiiies!

    I love you too, sweetheart.

  8. I've been accused of trolling, by following other teams. So sue me. But this is around the NHL thread. Barkov and Hoobie lead the league in points in the last 6 weeks. Granted, they are out of the playoffs..... but it shows they are playing with heart. Something the Sabres can't say.

Disappointed JJ.  We're all frustrated but I didn't see you as a band-wagoneer.

Not a bandwagoner. Like I said in my last post. Just looking for a team that can entertain me. The Sabres haven't done that. The worst team in the league since the win streak. The Panthers are kicking ass and have heart. Raleigh is playoff bound. Sabres............. nothing, The entire coaching staff and upper management needs to go. Botterill got rid of O'Reilly and let Lehner go. Lehner probably won't win the Vezina but the Islanders are 2nd in the league in save percentage. Greiss and Lehner are damn near identical in stats.

Sorry I piss you guys off by following other teams. I'm not trolling. I'm just following my home teams. My home team was Buffalo, then it was Florida because I spent almost 20 years there. Now I'm in North Carolina and by law, the Hurricanes are my home team. By law I mean the Canes are the TV station and not the Preds.

How would it go over if everyone switched to Leafs avatars and rooted for their other local team that is kicking ass, but still posted on here calling the Sabres losers? Your explanation is ridiculous.

You are not answering my questions, at all.

I didn't say that you said "everybody should be a Canes fan".

I said I was not offended (you apparently missed that).

But again, you have not answered my questions.  I'm giving you a fair shot at things here.

Sorry you both take offense to my avatar. I've stated my alliance to the Sabres. If that isn't enough for you, I'm sorry. When the season starts, I will be a Sabres fan, die hard. Up until now, I support my local team. If that offends you, I'm sorry. I enjoy sports, I love a team that can entertain me.  Does that mean anything to you?

Your last question does bring up one question as well.

Why do you waste your time coming to the forum to converse with others who are wasting their time watching garbage?  This is not a backhanded way of saying leave.  It's a legitimate question.  You are showing up, every day, to point out who you are rooting for and that the Sabres suck.

I'm not offended, it's just annoying. Imagine if I broke my leg and I got to listen to you tell me, at work, at the grocery store, at the gas station, that "Wow, broken legs really suck. That must be a pain to deal with."  How long do you think it's going to be before I tell you to STFU?

You know the forum, you see the forum, you read the forum. I am giving you credit for recognizing that fans aren't enjoying this team. What response do you expect from people when you post what you post?

Do you expect people to say, "Let's go be Caniacs for the year!"

Do you expect people to say "I'm gonna root for former Sabre Bob Boughner!"

My question was, why are you surprised people are responding as they do?

I have my assumptions but I am asking questions because I want to know your answers to them.

One last question, could you construe the willingness to jump ship to support a new team (your third) as being ultra-sensitive to the Sabres product?  You've reached your limit of being able to tolerate the blight that is the Buffalo Sabres.  Clearly others have not.  Who's more sensitive to the Sabres?  The answer is clearly you, since you've jumped ship. The only question is... are you ultra-sensitive?

No where did I point out that everybody should be a Canes fan. All I did was change my avatar and you all went ape *****. I have said repeatedly, the Sabres will always be my team. But, the Sabres and Panthers are out of playoff contention, my new home team is going to make the playoffs. I'm sorry it offends you that I support my local team. If all my teams made the playoffs, the Sabres would top my list, by far. Alas, they are losers. I haven't jumped ship, I am simply supporting my local team. I'm sorry you don't like that.

@JJFIVEOH -- you are of course welcome to your opinions, and to like other teams, and it's hard to take issue with criticizing the Sabres after yet another crappy season, but I will ask you to reconsider your avatar.  It's pretty much trolling to have another team's logo as your avatar on a sports message board, and pretty much guaranteed to increase the testiness around here.

Not trolling. Just supporting my local team. The Sabres are the laughing stock of the entire league. I can't deal with that any more. I'm a diehard Sabres fan, but if you all can't accept me supporting another team heading into the playoffs........... I'm sorry. It's not my problem.
