Did anyone else see Olofsson flinch when dumping the puck in along the boards anticipating a hit? He is getting tough to watch…

Eichel skating with the team in non-contact role, still 1-2 months away from suiting up for a game:

None of those comparisons make any sense to me. Are you saying Hunts and Heinz are significantly different from each other?
Ok, this one then: Nickleback is to Texas Pete's as Nirvana is to Franks RedHot

IDK why people keep talking about this Eichel guy. I checked his stats and he isn't even playing in the NHL this season...

I've never understood the disdain for Nickelback. They about sex and drugs. I like 'em, but I like Hinder more.
I was in the Coast Guard. Watching our guys risk their lives to save morons who won't get off the melting ice makes me hate ice fishing, and I laugh now when I see how truly stupid people can be. "Lemme take my $50k truck and my $50k trailer out onto the ice so I can catch $50.00 worth of pike!"
Nickelback is music for people that aren't musicians.
Maybe I can help here. Nickelback is to Hunts as Nirvana is to Heinz. They are the musical equivalent of answering "I work too hard" when describing your biggest weakness during a job interview. If Nickelback was a StarWars movie they would be the Phantom Menace.

Comments are gold.
If we get back enough players for Saturdays game Asplund should be sat. This type of play is completely unacceptable as a professional hockey player and Granato needs to make an example of him because I think it will help the team and Asplund. This kid still has a chance to be more than a JAG in this league, but that's less likely to happen if he thinks this play was ok...

Two spaces after a period were still required when I taught MBA classes in 2009. Texting and twitter (along with higher def lettering) basically eliminated the “need” for the additional space and in 2020 Microsoft Word updated their grammar checker to mark it as an error, which IMO was the official deathblow.
Edit: go Sabres!

In agreement with most at $850K-1.25MM a year for 2-3 years.
Yes he is a JAG, but he is a JAG that knows the system and does reasonably well in it. He is a vet and likeable personality in the room (so it seems), and can step into a larger role when there are injuries or someone is struggling.
I know he wants a regular spot in the line-up as a defensemen, but he likely will have less of a problem being the 7th or 8th guy on the roster with a multi-year deal.

What are these refs even looking at? That is inconclusive at best

I like the response from Tage. Especially after the no call

And then there is option 3: being careless to be “tough”. It wasn’t a smart way to do it. Thus the Penguins scored.
This is a very black and white take. It feels Ron Rolston-esque

No it wasn’t. It made it 1-0 bad guys. The Penguins will take that all day.

Dumb penalty Mr Dahlin. Dumb.
That penalty was an investment Dahlin made to get extra room on the ice later. I like my defense mean.

I didn't read any of the replies yet, but I predict this will eventually happen if hasn't happened already:

You can see chemistry. When Mitts, VO, Tuch, and Joker come back they too will need to blend in. These four players should helps put together another scoring line and a better PP.
this right here is why I’m excited. Big effort game from the team and we should only get better when these guys are in the lineup

Such *****. As soon as Haag gets his glove off is when the ref steps in
I don’t know if you’ve watched most of Haags fights but Sabres ended up on the PP and Haag not getting clocked is a win in my book any day

I was looking at TOI and I’m pretty happy with how Granato is running the forward lines. Tuch and Thompson with over 20min while VO, Bjork, and Eakin at 12-13min.
Granato hasn’t lost faith in Asplund yet with 15min TOI. His passing game is obviously his strength but he need to start putting it together or Krebs (also with 15min TOI) is going to start getting his more of his shifts when Middlestat returns.
I feel like we are finally starting to see real competition at spots and this is exactly what a team this age needs
