Umm...I think last night I said the Sabres best chance to get a real center was from Vancouver????
You are sort of like Matt Ellis hating on Derek Roy.
What did they do? They traded away their best power forward prospect in over a decade for an aveaged sized, non-physical center.
The Gaustad trade was fine. Why not Roy, Leopold, Stafford?
Your core is still 95% in tact
This team is actually smaller and less tough than 24 hours ago
This team is still a longshot and one of 8 teams chasing the very last playoff spot
You are a funny guy Korab. You should go hang out on the PPP Bills board, you'd fit in well.
If it is so easy finding a power forward in this league......name the last Sabre who could score 15 goals....and WASN'T a complete Puss?
What's the matter - don't like being reminded of your own words? You are becoming a caricature of yourself. It's laughable - luckily you have your entourage and a constant stream of new posters who don't know any better than to take you seriously.
The PPP board? Shall I post the link to your epic meltdowns over there for all the new people?
May you live in quiet times.

That wasn't me.
I actually started a contest and you could tell what I thought the chances were of certain guys getting moved.
Oh really?
The best indicator of present / future behavior is past behavior. Therefore, we all know what is going to happen. I have resigned myself to that fact and would be extremely shocked if anything substantial were to happen on, or before, 3:00 PM EST on Monday, February 27, 2012.
This is quickly turning into a nightmare. Given Pegula's makeup.....I fear there will be NO selloff whatsoever.
A prudent GM would look at the schedule.
The Sabres have 8 home games and 14 road games left.
The Sabres should be favored in 6 and underdogs in 16.
Right now 7th is out of sight and there are 8 teams trying to get #8.
Toronto is on pace for 89 points, which is low, but possible.
The most I can see the Sabres with is 85/86 points, and they need to go 13-8-1 for that to happen.
We are going to blow this again at the deadline in the hopes of a 20-1 shot of even getting in the playoffs.
The reality of the situation is that it is very unlikely the Sabres would move any player that is not a pending UFA no matter what the Sabres record is or how many points they are out of a playoff spot. Regier is not going to get rid of his "core" guys and Pegula is not interested in forcing Regier's hand. "Hockey Heaven" is nothing more than a Status Quo love-fest. The trade deadline was setting up to be a huge disappointment, a few wins allows Status Quo to excuse their way to doing what they do best, nothing.
Ted Black is Larry Quinn with a Coke and a Smile.
I had high hopes. He said the franchise was "At a Crossroads" on Dec 31st, 3 weeks after it was obvious things weren't good. They have done NOTHING!!!! but send down McNabb and Adam.
The usual suspects saying the usual things.

Really? You've been banging the drum that Darcy would stand pat and stick with status quo for a month.

I'm a little shocked by this. I'm a little sick actually. I figured Gaustad and Stafford could have gone. Maybe they view Stafford as damaged goods at this point since he has been in Buffalo for so long.
For anyone that thought I was full of crap saying that Vancouver figured out Lindy's system before even Lindy could figure out his system....this is now...
Pyatt
Bernier

Mancari
Kassian
Pretty much any forward over 200 lbs who doesn't have 3% body fat and can't beat James Patrick at the cone drill by more than 1 second.
 What did you do with the "See, I told you Darcy wouldn't do anything" post?

Careful with that juice!
-
I like mimosas you can see through.
-
Note: always pour the juice first, then the bubbly. Stops the bubbly from foaming over the glass.
You are doing it wrong. Get better and drier champagne - not real expensive stuff, but not cooks either.
-
Not a bad idea!
It's quite good - I like it better than orange juice.
-
Haha -- well, to be fair he was drinking scotch (Oban, mostly) before I ever tried it, and would normally do a Bloody Mary on Sundays but is favoring the mimosas after we had the blood orange ones the other week.
Try mimosas with pineapple juice instead.

I'm out for today - time for some hockey!

NYS Tier II PeeWee Central Section Hockey Tournament! Sectional Championship and a trip to States on the line.
F'n Fantastic!

This is going to sound like snobbery, but what is good is rarely popular and what is popular is rarely good. Try different things than the people around you; sometimes it'll go well, sometimes it won't, but at least you'll get to know what you like. This goes for many more things than alcohol.
Rusty nail. Great cocktail. Also, if you're in a decent bar (which may be a non-intersecting set with college bars), ask the bartender for a recommendation. Sometimes you'll get something amazing.
Rusty nails are outstanding - a bit of an acquired taste, but one hell of way to end the evening. And likely not remember it...

Complaint: tweaked something in the 'wedding tackle' yesterday, and I'm really uncomfortable today. I wasn't doing anything fun, even.
Having a Facebook account and also having a birthday. My phone has been vibrating nonstop since 9am. :P
 Is there another way to tweak your wedding tackle?
Wait, has Mattpie been poking d4rk?

I don't know that there is much to discuss. The empirical evidence says you will make 84% more over your lifetime with a bachelors degree than a HS diploma - and your upper end is stratospherically higher.THe field I am in required 2 degrees. A BA or BS and a degree in mortuary science. Go them both in Cincinnati. My entire family is in the funeral business.I am not saying a degree is worthless , rather just putting the ? out there for discussion.
-
is the degree worth the debt?
Always - you can get a degree while incurring a minimum of debt if you are smart about it. Look at the lifetime income difference between those with degrees and those without. Unless you are lucky or good enough to start one of the few businesses that succeed, a degree is the only route to success.
Here's the data: http://www9.georgeto...ff-complete.pdf
If you mean is a $60K/yr. education at the University of Chicago worth more than a 20K/yr. education from a state school that starts off with 2 years at 5K per at a community college? That is a matter of great debate that depends on the schools involved, the type of job sought, the place where you went to school versus where you will be seeking a job, and the realistic upper end potential of the individual. Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

My parents still cook them that way, but they only eat eggs two days a week at most. They taste so much better that way.I wish it was the 50s again when that was actually good for you.
-
Thank you. No pork fat, and just a couple tablespoons of olive oil. Cooked in Stoneware, so the moisture in the veggies and the little bit of olive oil is all that's necessary to keep everything from sticking. It's actually a very lean dish without the eggs, and as you note eggs' reputation is largely undeserved ( unless you eat three everyday fried in bacon grease).Unless he added alot of pork fat to it, venison sausage is rather lean. And eggs aren't nearly as bad for you as their reputation.
We've got a brown butter sauce served over pan fried squash and sausage filled ravioli tonight and a Ceasar salad.
-
Venison sausage home fries for breakfast this morning with lots of onions, garlic and sweet red pepper.
Throw a couple fried eggs over easy on top and you are good to go till dinner time.

Brown chicken, brown cow.Cue the music.

Finally.
I can't think of a response that won't make the language filter freak out.

Yup. With sprouts and goat cheese.
Dude, it's seitan not tofu. Get it right! :)

The trick is to not think of it as a competitor to beef jerky, but a snack on it's own.
I need a shower.

Just had a cup of thyme tea because I was feeling a bit groggy. Now I just want to take a nap.
Did you have a side of tofu jerky with that?

Darcy is just so hard to deal with, always over valuing his players. :flirt:
