  1. The "somehow" is that he's considerably better than most of this board thinks. How many2-goal games were there in that 10-game streak? As I've stated before, he's probably not the future. But give him credit where it's due. In fact, I wouldn't expect Miller to start until Biron--and I mean Biron, not the team--loses one.

    Also the .944 save percentage.

  2. I forgot to mention last night, we dodged a bullet with about 30 seconds left. The puck came behind the net and Biron moved to the other side, but the Avs kept the puck on the same side. They had a decent angle to score, about a foot of the net wide open, and Biron standing on the other side of the net with no clue where the puck was. Luckily they missed.

Marty kept them in that game during the Av's barrage at the end of the game. For a long period of time toward the end of the third, it seemed like we could not get the puck out and guys were standing around.

We weathered the storn and were able to come back to pick up two huge points on the road.

That win was not only great for the two points, it was great for a young team not playing on the road under adverse conditions and should only add confidence as the season progresses.

  3. Men against boys. The Sens and the Habs have skated circles around us. Odd man break after odd man break.

Our defensemen are horrible. They do not stand anybody up at the blue line, get stuck in no man's zone, and leave opposing players undisturbed in front of the net.

I would have hated to be the goaltender behind that D.

  4. Nice win by Sabres. Yet, by no means did we dominate the entire game as the Buffalo News and some of the quotes seem to suggest. There were times when the Sabres were dominated in our own zone.

It is a sign of good team, however, when you can win a game like that. You have to love the results that this team is getting so far.

This has been a very enjoyable season. I just hope that we can start filling up HSBC on a consistent basis.

  5. There is no way that Miller should have let that in. He left too much open and did not challenge the shooter at all. Tallender also did not challenge the shooter except for a half hearted attempt at a poke check.

We should have at least had a point after this game.
