  1. When they deserve it, duh. My flawed recollection was Regier's pain comment soon after Briere and Drury's departure. Am I off?
  2. Quite the opposite. Always liked the job Regier did. I thought he got ragged on unfairly. He built that post-lockout team. People would bust on him for holding out for better trades. Gee.
  3. All I meant was the slide started with losing those two.
  4. You are aware of the Bills right? The name Josh Allen ring a bell?
  5. What if Anderson played all year?
  6. Where did Hayden and Jankowski came from? Were they always in our system? Were they free agents? They are sneaky good.
  7. Not a big deal. Why not have his 500th at home in front of people? Anderson bailed us out twice, including that cluster**** turnover started with a bad pass.
  8. You make good points but losing Briere and Drury was the start of the morass we are in now.
  9. I would have made the 4 hour trek there if they were letting fans in.
  10. The Pegulas are bad owners like Ralph Wilson was a bad owner, and we put up with him for 50+ years...and we still have the team.
  11. He also let our two best players walk out the door because he didn't want to chance losing a nickel.
  12. You just had the Super Bowl favorite Bills struggle to fill a stadium for a home playoff game, and only managed to do it when resale tickets fell to $25. So I'm not ready to accept your premise. 1.2MM people is not enough of a base to support an NHL team. Especially a base that is relatively poor. You need those half a million Canadian fans who can cross the border on a weeknight to attend a game. I'm telling you, this border crap is going to sink the Sabres, whether they are good or not, if it doesn't get resolved in the next two years.
  13. The Sabres are an undervalued asset. Move it almost anywhere and it's value doubles.
  14. Yes, but it's still a major market and the end game is a new arena in said major market. Buffalo was barely large enough to support an NHL team when you added a half million Canadians across the border. Without free access to the USA, the Sabres can't survive.
  15. Get a room, you guys. The bigger question is how long will he be interested in staying in Buffalo.
  16. Floating where? Did Terry post the billionaire equivalent of an ad on Craigslist and Joe answered?
  17. From Wikipedia: "In September 2019, Tsai became the owner of the Brooklyn Nets of the NBA and chairman of Barclays Center. He initially invested in the NBA team in October 2017, purchasing a 49% stake in the Nets from Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov in a deal that valued the team at $2.3 billion, with the option to buy the remaining stake of the team no later than 2021.[20][21][22] Tsai exercised that option in August 2019, and at the same time, bought the Nets' arena from Prokhorov for nearly $1 billion in a separate deal.[23] Tsai's ownership in the Nets includes the Long Island Nets of the NBA G League and the Nets Gaming Crew of the NBA 2K League. In January 2019, Tsai headed a group that bought the WNBA's New York Liberty from The Madison Square Garden Company.[24] He owns the San Diego Seals, a professional box lacrosse team in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). On May 26, 2021 The NLL announced Tsai would be the owner of the new Las Vegas franchise.[25] He is also chairman of J Tsai Sports. Through that company, he has investments in the upstart field lacrosse league, the Premier Lacrosse League and several sports media and technology companies based in North America and Asia. Tsai made his investment in the Premier Lacrosse League in February 2019, along with The Chernin Group and The Raine Group, helping fund the new lacrosse league founded by lacrosse player Paul Rabil and his brother Mike Rabil.[26] In March 2018, Tsai joined a Michael Rubin-led group to buy the Carolina Panthers.[27] Tsai is also an investor in Major League Soccer franchise Los Angeles FC.[28][29] On 26 May 2021, the National Lacrosse League announced that Tsai would be owning the 15th NLL franchise with it based in Las Vegas.[30][31]" So my first question is what connection does Tsai have with the Pegulas? Or did he reach out to them out of the blue because he wants to expand his sports holdings? Also, just the Sabres or the Bills too? I know we will want to dance a jig over the idea of getting rid of Terry and Kim but this could be the beginning of the end of Buffalo as a major league sports market. Both franchises are undervalued in WNY. And the current border issues make Buffalo an even worse market. What makes @eanyillssay the Pegulas have lost their commitment to the city? Though it's not hard to imagine why.
  18. What's the advantage to cracking it? I have an old one that I haven't used in a while since you can get Prime Video on other platforms.
  19. Could have used some D.
  20. Once, I had hope for Bjork.
  21. Pretty even game otherwise.
