How good did it feel to start this thread?!
I’m trying to figure out a way that last Friday was my last day ever. Don’t think it’s going to happen, though, damn brain surgeons are too good these days.
Eh I know the ***** storm I’m walking into. They say they’ve made changes but a culture that’s been entrenched for 35+ years dies hard. It’s going to be more stress, a lot more responsibility and longer hours but I had to make the move for my family. I haven’t slept in weeks. Hoping once I start smoking again, I can get back to sleeping.
Hitting a wall every day at 2pm where I can barely keep my eyes open despite drinking coffee and energy drinks all day, has been taxing. Great news, I’m at my lowest weight since college. Bad news, I’m living like a 1950’s housewife slamming uppers, wired out of my gourd.

As a professional recruiter/HR, there is no good or bad time to give the notice. I would give it As soon as possible as to avoid burning any bridges with the company you are about to leave. It is always a good thing when you can glo back to an older job you have with a better life!!

Good luck and enjoy your new-old job!

There is a wrinkle. I recruited on of my long time employees to come work for me at my new gig. I gotta break the news to him. So, about 30 minutes before I leave today, I’m going to tell my boss. Then meet up with my boy and break the news over a beer. I feel terrible but he’s in a much better situation.

Late in the day on Friday
I had last Friday off (NFL Draft). Gotta do it today in order for it to be two weeks. It sucks it’s a Monday but I’d rather give them the extra 5 days. My boss has been very fair with me. I wanted to do the same for them.

So you may remember ~ two years ago I left my old job of 23 years for a new career. The current job has been good. The first 6 months or so were a bit rough as the person who was supposed to train me, decided not to and I had to fend for myself. Eventually I figured everything out and I’ve done quite well. Good reviews. Good relationships with my peers. Yada yada.
So about a month ago I got an email notification from a recruiting service that I never put the kibosh on with a very familiar job offer. It was my old job. I sent a screen shot to some of my former coworkers joking about coming back. A couple days later a former boss, not the boss I had when I left (this guy I’ve known for 30 years, we were drinking buddies before coworkers) reached out and asked if I was interested in coming back.
I hadn’t really thought about it and said I’d be willing to have a conversation about it. So I had about a 45 minutes conversation about the state of the company, and what the expectations would be to resume my old role. I told him I knew what the pay range was because it was included in the job opening notification I got from the recruiter. He asked what it was, I told him the range. He told me that was old info and he could do better.
This was 50% more than I was making when I left. Which is a game changer for me. I get 2x the PTO I currently get, cut my commute from 17 miles to 3 miles and go back to working in the industry I had 23 years of experience in. Win, win, win.
It came with getting a clean drug test which I somehow managed despite being a heavy THC user. Smoking 15 large “J”s a week, plus a few gummies on top of that as well as some vaping when convenient. Needless to say, I needed the full month, a detox diet heavy in liquids, and a 5 day detox kit made of herbal supplements to wash my system clean as of 3 weeks post interview, I was still testing positive. So results all came back good.
I’m putting in my two week notice today. Is it better to do it early or late in the day?

I thought of this thread yesterday upon seeing a local commercial. Season ticket ads with nothing but Lindy highlights throughout his playing and coaching time in Buffalo.
The whole reason to buy tickets is " We have Lindy ! " . LOL.
So much for killing the whole “it’s a PR stunt” narrative. They are just leaning into it. Sounds like TP has grabbed the reins pretty tightly.

As for who’s the Bills WR1, I think we’re more looking at “WR by committee,” the Dalton Kincaid show, and, incredibly, a renewed emphasis on the run (ugh).
I can also see a lot of 12 personnel and 2 RB formations. There is still the possibility of another teams camp / cap casualty that signs with the Bills late.

He's most likely not going to make a impact year 1 which is disappointing for you guys but he will be solid imo.
Having Hollins as the number 1 can't happen though hopefully you guys have a trade lined up
I don’t see Mack any higher than WR4. Samuel, Shakir & Coleman are clearly 1-3. He’ll be competing with Shorter and Hamler just for that spot. Our lads has it that way as well.

Tyson Kozak is in for Neuchev this game. Kozak was a healthy scratch for game one. Lots of fans somehow thought Tyson would be a future Sabre. He’s a tough kid but he’s a long way from ever being considered an NHL prospect.

Weissbach makes it 2-0. Pretty feed from Rousek.

Rosen really needs to shoot the puck. Point blank chance and he passes to Kulich. It’s the playoffs son, put the puck on net.

So you're OK with the bills basically having the worst receiving core where your QB has to do everything again.
The Wide receivers are a bunch of 3's
*Coleman will likely be a 2 in year 3
I’m not as high on Coleman as you are but I’m not going to pout like the thousands of Bills fans. You may be right. KC makes it work with a superstar TE and a bunch of also ran WR. We’ll have to wait and see.

Last season Allen had 385 completions last season. So we can chalk up 250 to Kincaid, Samuel, Shakir, Coleman. Easily. Leaving 135 among the RBs, Knox and WR’s 4-7. The offense will look different. Thankfully we won’t have to watch Josh force 5 throws a game to Diggs in tight coverage. Brady definitely likes to spread it around and you have to think not having any diva receivers will go hand and hand with that. I’ve seen some post draft hub bub about KJ Hamler & Justin Shorter. Maybe they breakout. Not counting on it. Yes I’m rationalizing a bit but none of the receivers after the top 3 are sure bets to contribute anything this season. A few will surprise but most rookie WRs take at least a half season to get acclimated.

This is going to be a reset year.
All I know is if things don’t change I’m drafted Kinkaid as TE2 behind Kelce in the first 3 rounds of FF.

I'm confused who's going to be the number 1 guy ? Maybe Kincaid? he's realistically only one I could see passing 900 yards .
Off season isn’t over. I’m trying to have patience. It’s certainly be tested.

We’ve already entered the part of ‘draft season’ that I absolutely detest. ‘Draft Grades’ or ‘Winners and Losers’ written by the ‘draft experts’. The comparison is made between their evaluations and those of NFL teams. And when they match up the team is an A+ winner. When not, the team screwed up. Forget about the folly of evaluating player picks just hours after the draft. The hubris of these guys is unbelievable. They do not have the resources NFL teams do to gather all the necessary information. Just once I would like to see one of these guys to a self-evaluation using the actual teams’ selections as the measuring stick. ‘Mel Kiper gave himself a D+’. But that’s as likely as the hair growing back on my head.
Lastly, it’s an inexact science. The hits and misses will become apparent in due time. But I will always favor the opinion of those with the most information in these conditions.Rant over. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding. 😄
You mean this nonsense? 😀

Who knows if it's real but only a few ways you fall down every teams draft board.
If he’s still there, droppping a 5th to take a flier on a player with his upside is very reasonable.

Upon reflection, I don’t think I’ve watch any WR college highlights where they were covered on every snap minus a busted coverage here or there. It was certainly notable. I’m putting my faith in Beane but when dude is known for his contested catch ability because he’s always blanketed, I have concerns. I’m hoping he can make a living with those abilities in the NFL. Not sure why Josh loves him, hope there is good reason.
