Of the three people you just mentioned the one person that I have little regard for is Mike Schopp. He's been on WGR, a sports talk station for a long time. I don't even think that he likes or cares about sports. His longevity on the station has me perplexed.

There are alot of thiings you can say about Mike, but to say he doesn't like sports is not one of them. He has been a Sabres season ticket holder, probably knows more about baseball than anyone in the area and is a huge football fan. He is just not a rah rah guy and he expects you to have an intelligent take if you disagree with him.

  2. It’s really hard to argue with the overall success of KA and the future looks bright. However, it’s incumbent on him to take the next step.  I understand that New Jersey is a year ahead but they appear to be increasing that lead. Also, Adams and Granato went to great lengths to point out how the more established teams sold their future for short term gains. He has to take advantage of that now and I think he will but until he does, he’s still a theory.

In honor of tonight's draft:  The Sabres have picked 13OA six times.  Who are they?

I’m pretty sure one is Drew Stafford

  4. With the schedule out, it is that time of year that I ask the question. Who is interested in getting together for a game next year? I have access to ten(10) tickets at a cost of $108 per ticket. Some people get their own tickets and meet between periods. Some just get together for drinks and food before the game. Please pm me if interested and I will give you more details. There is also the availability of between 5 and 10 games next year if interested.

    I'm in.

My thought is to tell people now that we'll be doing one again and if they want in to PM you (or me if you don't want the "flood" of PMs).  And if people haven't indicated they want in by say end of July (or August, not sure how far out your group is doing its ticket draft) we just get as many tix as we have interest for by then.

I’ll post something tonight or tomorrow

Remember, they usually give out t-shirts on home opener and fan appreciation (last home game) nights.

Should I post something about another get together or just private message those from last year?

Also, I do have about ten other games available

Was sure he tortured our nights for at least 600 (and he did if playoffs are included) but because of the original lockout he didn't quite get to your threshold.

And as people seem to have moved on from the other question, the answer was longtime Amerks head coach Randy Cunneyworth.  Roughly 17 years between goals for the Sabres.

Damn, I should have remembered Cunneyworth

Yeah, I DO know who you mean, and no, it's not him.  Maybe about 500 (EDIT that's games played as a Sabre).  He's one of the Iks and not the one who had a wicked slapshot aimed at the 200 level.

    He had 589.

Presuming postseason games are included in that 600, refuse to answer that question on general principle.  If nobody mentions his name, then he never actually was a Sabre.

    Post season are not included

    Vanek is one guess.

Andreychuk is another, and then Pommer?

Ramsey is outside the scope of the question.

Wait, Housley has to be in there.  So Vanek, Housley, Andy are my guesses.

One of those is correct and none of your final three

My post was entirely tongue-in-cheek; I'm not among the Sabrespacers weeping over his loss.

But yes, he was good this year in Seattle in a protect-the-house 3rd pairing kind of way.

Yeah, I knew where you were coming from. Should have made that clear.
