What I meant is that he half ***** it too often. He can get away with it because he makes the play on pure talent alone. If he dug a little deeper, and had more urgency, he'd be generational. I really can't wait until he returns (like last year) from the All-Star Game where he will be surrounded by others that actually know to play the game right.

I'm with JohnC here. What you are describing isn't what I've seen from him this year. And as I said earlier in the year, when Skinner is your grittiest player, you're screwed, and he was for a while. Also, we need more finishers.

I went snowboarding with my nephew and his buddy on Sunday. At one point, they said, "We're old for being on this mountain'..." I don't remember the exact context, but it made me feel old (and yet, kinda good.) Two days later, reading a story that Jake Guentzel will be 30 years old next season, made me feel really old.

I think I disagree with this. I think he is one of the few Torts would actually keep. Casey always plays hard and wins board battles. Quinn, Benson, Peterka and maybe even Skinner are among others I think he would also keep. There are probably others, but I just don’t care enough to try and figure out who they might be.

My buddy said the same thing when he was back for Christmas. Sad.
