I usually dread Islander games 'cuz we always lose,... and they're really boring (except for that Kid's Day brawl a while back.) I'm not dreading this game. I think we win.

That sucks. I was just thinking that I kinda like those forward lines.

If I lived in Imagination Land, and Jessica Fletcher or Johnathon and Jennifer Hart showed up at my door and I hadn't seen them in a while, I'm kicking them in the groin and running away as fast as I can, cuz there is no way I wouldn't end up dead. What you have stated here is a testament to just how skilled he is. They have achieved that in spite of his hockey IQ. He is eminently skilled, but we watch him make dumb decision after even dumber ones. He was terrible today. If he had one quarter of Samson's hockey sense, we're in first place. Its sooooo frustrating.

That was a stupid entry by Jack. He had Pommers ahead of him with speed and he chose to make move at the blue line. We know he can create on his own. He needs to use his line mates better.

It’s not quite the same.? I saw them in Marsh Lake, Yukon a while back. We had just gotten done playing shinny and someone burst in to the 15x15 warming/changing hut to tell us that there were northern lights were happening. Someone killed the lights to the rink and parking lot and everyone filed outside to watch them. I’ll never forget that trip.

I agree with all of that. I've been shown other charts trying to convince me that Pilut is better than I think he is, as well. I just find it interesting that when the Eye Test is in conflict with the stats (ie Risto and Pilut), certain people trust the numbers while others trust their eyes. I think they can both be correct, but it makes me think that the stats are either flawed or incomplete.

Larsson and Girgenson are the only forwards I saw finish their checks tonight. Sad.

This is my problem with stats and the people who follow them blindly. Stats are woefully incomplete with regard to defensive play.. There is no stat for that and it’s why us dinosaurs who trust our “eye test” question whenever someone tells us that Pilut is one of our best defensemen. There is more to playing defense than zone entries and exits. Every once in a while you have to bash someone to get them to move from the front of your net.
