Giveaways have to be the thing. But man, I feel like you gotta let him work through it.

I have no idea. Every metric indicates that Pilut is the more useful player. edit: the only thing I'm seeing that would raise a red flag is the takeaway/giveaway ratio. Pilut has 3 giveaways for every 1 takeaway, whereas Hunwick on his career has 1.5 giveaways for every takeaway. I don't feel like that is enough to base roster decisions on, but here we are.

Hunwick in the lineup over Pilut is a disgrace.

I blame Ristolainen for that. He's slow and unpredictable with the puck.

Yup. The biggest problem continues to be that the goal of the power play is to set Jack up but Jack also spends too much time with the puck. It doesn't work right. My hope is that by adding a 4th forward to the power play the goal will shift to setting that 4th forward up. If Jack is going to handle the puck so much then let someone else be the shot guy. The problem is that the 4th forward is Okposo and the defender that was subbed out is not Ristolainen. That ain't it, chief.

I'm glad they're picking this up on the road. Better place to try to get your legs under you after such a long break. Hopefully everyone who was banged up is feeling much better. I want Ullmark but I suspect we'll see Hutton tonight and then Ullmark against Dallas tomorrow night. Will be interesting to see if Housley's power play tinkering works. My first guess is that it wont because I don't agree with the player selections. But we'll see.

Sam centering a line is never going to happen. I still wish we could get a few games with him on his own line. I accept, though, that Phil is probably never going to try that again.

Pilut in the "no offense" range is maybe worth discussing.

I mean, they've only had 4 SOs this year and they've won 3 of them. It's not like they're getting killed in the shootout.
