Zemgus Girgensons signs 3 Year 2.2 M AAV Deal With Sabres
SDS replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
I guess if you disregard the first half of what I said then what you said is true. lol -
I find reality disappointing enough, I see no need to be disappointed in something that I don’t have knowledge of.
-
Incompetent is your projection without information. It’s either they haven’t asked or the players haven’t accepted the terms. Anything else right now is your perception based upon your disappointment of the past.
-
You don’t have any idea which players were asked.

I feel like this topic needs to be temporarily locked because I don’t see why this generic topic is being used instead of the free-agent topic.

If you can create just as good of a hockey team and increase entertainment at the same time, which is what professional sports is, then there’s no reason not to do it. -

It’s also about trying something different. It doesn’t have to be anything negative against Zemgus. -
I wish I could say I have a more positive vibe, but I am guessing the community will be more disappointed than pleased by the end of this.

The reason they haven’t made the playoffs in a decade is because some people are talking on a message board? 😳 -

I have the same feelings towards him as I did towards Lindy. As a fan, I, good or bad, just want to see something different. Obviously I don’t wanna make ourselves worse but I just wanted to be different. -

I don’t know. It seems weird to me that we are bad all these years and yet we keep bringing so many of the same players back. Seems to me even if we could get somebody equivalent that getting new blood and would just be better. 🤷🏼♂️- 104 replies

Good for you to be able to understand that gibberish. I could barely hear anything.

This would take some pitchforks out of some hands.

I think the issue arises when you fall in love with intangibles that aren’t also supported by talent. It’s just as bad as falling in love with elite talent that doesn’t work hard.

It all depends on your perception of the assessed risk and how much value needs to be placed on the 2020.

Better requires definition.

Why can’t it be that in order to lay out cash for our better players that we need more current players on the roster under entry-level contracts starting today?
-
So, I wonder with COVID-19 salary constraints and everything else that happening today that maybe giving him a little extra rope might be in order? Maybe he’s making decisions today that might have different metrics next year or the year after?

He’s probably the most famous soccer coach men’s or women’s in the country. He did coach the women’s team to a World Cup back in the 90s. and you may have misunderstood me. He laughs at the typical player that comes to him claiming how competitive they are. Those are the ones he laughs at, because they don’t know what competitive means at the top. He sets up a vicious dog eat dog environment where if you are not striving to beat the person in front of you then you’ll be eaten alive. He has some thing like 22 national championships in 37 years.
-
Which still doesn’t mean he is using the same metrics as the Sabres.

I don’t know if you are a soccer fan, but Anson Dorance, the famous women’s soccer coach at the University of North Carolina, says exactly the same thing. He gets the elite of the elite. But girls Who want to play with him tell him all the time how competitive they are. He says he laughs at them and tells them they don’t know what it means to be competitive.
